What to do to make benzos work again?

For the last few years I've been taking benzos. During the first year for about 6 months it was every day. Xanax, Temazepam, & Valium. Id take a one of them or a combo giving me a dose of or equivalent to 20mg-40mg of Valium.

The second year I rarely took benzos.

For the last year Ive been taking them a few times a month. No Xanax, only Temazepam or Valium. I take 150mg-300mg of Temaze or 75mg-150mg of Valium. I get little to no effect even at 150mg of Valium even if I drink it with GFJ.

I dont get it. Sometimes I dont take any benzos for a like 2 months & still cant get relaxed from taking it.

What can I do to get the same relaxed feeling I used to when I first tried benzos?

Im thinking either quitting for a long time or taking with a potentiator. But is there actually any decent ones out there?

Alcohol seems like it would be the only one strong enough but I dont drink & it's dangerous. GFJ didnt seem to do anything. What about antihistamines?

Im most curious about DXM as it's stronger than alcohol. I havnt had it in about 8 years but it's like legal PCP! Maybe 100mg of DXM & 150mg of valium. Although I remember DXM being stimulating at that dose. It would have to be like 300mg or something. But I cant forget how disgusting it tasted & if I were to dose 300mg I'd probably throw up. Anyways would iot be a true potentiator or just a combo?

Mixing it with codeine or Oxycodone SEEMS to make the benzos stronger or it might be the benzo potentiating the opiate.

If there isnt any DECENT potentiators I guess im going to have to take a break. Im guessing 6 months.
in general. how long do u think it would take to half my tolerance. (for 75mg to feel like 150mg used to)

geez. when i first tried valiium 35mg would get me relaxed. more than 150mg does now. tolerance just doesnt seem to go away with benzos. it goes away fairly quickly with other drugs. just not benzos. it's crazy

Maybe I'll never get that relaxed feeling ever again. than again I could up my dose but I promised myself I wouldnt go over 150mg. Im sure 300mg would probably get me a little relaxed though. Maybe I could even have a nice nap but probably not. I actually dont really even feel 150mg at all & like I said before sometimes I dont use for months. but generally I dose every 2 weeks.

I'm sorry to say this man but it can take upwards of 5 months to lose a benzo tolerance, even one like yours. You can check around but I will more or less guarentee that it's due to tolerance built by daily use for those first months. Plus longer acting benzos like temazepam take longer to leave your system, allowing it to build up. Diazepam half life is something like 300 hours! Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong but I am more or less certain... I'm not in the mood for a hunt

I take 4mg xanax every other day except on fridays then I take 6mg and the nothing in the weekend. Then the cycle starts over again. How long do you think it would take for me to get rid of my tolerance? The only benzo I take is alprazolam which has a relatively short half life. 4mg induces a barely noticeable feeling of relaxation.

Doesn't really make much sense to me if you are only using a couple of times a month, two and a half years since you were using daily, that tolerance should have gone for sure, can't really go into too much detail, but are these definitely legit benzos from a legit pharmacy, or sourced from the street of the internet? as it sounds more likely to me that you have been having bunk pills, either that or your body hasn't been able to shake off the tolerance from your your daily use a couple of years ago.

A one year break from daily use in my experience as helped to lower tolerance considerably, but, like most drugs, you'll never achieve those glowing first time highs ever again.

Temazepam is a short acting benzo - quick in, quick out. No active metabolites.

For anyone taking over 4 mg of alprazolam everyday or every other day will need at least as the above poster stated - upwards of 5 months - in order for tolerance to decrease to a good 2 mg alprazolam. Go for longer (7-8 months without any benzos) and you'll be back at 1 mg. It would be easier and a bit quicker for the person taking them less frequently (like d3xo-fan) compared to someone who takes them daily (like me, for example). I think baseline is achievable if you are off of benzos for a good year and half. It takes along time for benzo tolerance to decrease, much longer than opioid tolerance.

i'll use benzos lightly once or twice a month, if that, and by the end of it they begin to feel worthless like they aren't doing anything, tolerance! Benzos are fun, addicting, dangerous......moderation is key if you want to use recreationally. Set em aside or only get em every couple weeks or months even. Look forward to a nice rest or much needed sleep. I take temazepam when i know it'll be hard to sleep. I'll take ativan with a small amount of suboxone, the only buzz i really get anymore! I'll take .5-1mg sub and .5 ativan
