Plugging codeine CWE

thought this would be of some use, something we just received in OD

What is the ideal substance to liquid ratio for plugging?

As far as what would be most efficient...

I've read some say as little as possible to the opposite.A small amount would make sense since if the action is osmosis then it would be going from a greater concentration to a lesser, right?

But then I'm thinking maybe more liquid would cover a greater surface area.

I have tried both myself but I haven't been able to come to a conclusion because there were way too many other variables going on.

If anyone has some medical knowledge, that would be great! Thanks!

The large intestine absorbs water across the lumenal lining. So the more watery the mixture, the easier it'll be absorbed. If it's a paste it won't be easily absorbed.

obviously codeine isn't a viscous solution, the more gluggy pills would be mscontins etc, but still relative and food for thought

It works. I used to do it, way back when. I used a 5mL oral syringe, lube, and went at it, with about 100mL of water. Took a while, but kicked in well, and I didn't have to taste the CWE *gag*

I find that codeine has alot more euphoria. Not very knowledgeable on this but isnt morphine supposed to feel alot nicer than oxycodone? Cant say i have had pure morphine before but if the body metabolizes 10% codeine to morphine wouldnt that feel better? I know that 500mg codeine felt better than 40mg oxy.

morphine to me feels better than oxy. codeine feels better than oxy & would be better if it was 5x stronger. it has a better "feel" but just isnt strong enough.

u can buy syringes from the pharmacy without a needle. i got one when i got my wisdom teeth taken out & had to have a strong spray of water to clean out the food stuck in the operated areas. they would be perfect for plugging & they hold 15mL of water. So ud only have to plug 3-4 times.

Ever since I switched from paracetamol tablets to ibuprofen the taste has completely changed. Anyone who is not liking the taste I highly recommend switching to ibuprofen based products. Worked for me.

I think more important is whether you are going to get similar conversion rates of codeine to morphine compared to oral. I imagine plugging it has a pretty similar bioavailability to oral because codeine has a pretty good oral BA in the first place.
