DMT Extraction FTW/L

Extracting your own DMT too... thats very clever stuff.

I'm just going to wait till i die, yup. Saving DMT as my last drug to try you see ;) Plus it will be free then.
 
Doing good thanks, went a bit mad/suicidal/depressed on the meph a while back and had to take a year off. Back now to indulge strictly in the friendly stuff :D

This seemed like a logical place to start!

That's if it's released at death tho sam - I've got serious doubts that it is. I've never read a near-death experience that sounded anything like a DMT trip.
 
What yield did you end up with pete? How many pulls have you done? And have you actually used a turkey baster successfully? I found it impossible to avoid pulling up the aqueous layer.

Anyone who can do a DMT extraction can also extract mescaline. I highly recommend it, it's a very rewarding process.
 
Vader, my cactus went mouldy :| left it in cupboard with some potatoes for, um, quite some time. Forgot about potatoes. Everything is now slightly damp and full of mould :(

Serves me right for leaving it unextracted for so long though I guess.

I usually just extract all of the naptha + a bit of the mixture into a tall glass and then it's easier to get all the solvent.

I still haven';t given mescaline a try - I think this summer might be my time...that and ayahuasca.
 
Well my 'loads' of dmt was reduced to an amber goo when we evaporated the solvent off (water bathed it). Decreased in size considerably. I sponged it up in a rizla, put the rizla in the vaporiser and there were a good few trips to be had. Must have been no more than 50mg total yield though.

How do you lot dry off the solvent effectively without heating up the damn stuff and possibly vaping half the DMT in the process?

(btw the higher yield came about from putting the pulls into a lasagne bowl and sticking it in the freezer. Still only getting scrapings though, and it's a very cold freezer).

I don't want to sit and watch solvent fill the air for two weeks before being able to smoke me DMT without spontaneously combusting.
 
flat shallow tray, aim a big fan at it. (in a welll ventilated space, loft or somewhere)

evapping is a pain...it sounds like you haven't got all the goodies out of the base yet, if it didn't precipitate out cos the freezer is not cold enough, it should have come out in the evaporation....not sure whats going wrong... :?

I'm not sure either. Either way, I'll be doing this again. The bark is so affordable and the process is so much fun, and the trip(ish) I tasted last night was all the more sweeter for being comprised of my own blood, sweat and tears.

The DMT will come.

If you call them, they will come =D

I can't vader. You end up with a solid lump of cactus snot and a yield of about one trips worth from £300 of cactus.

I'm not so sure about that albion. I find it pretty expensive.
 
It's affordable in the sense that a less-than-three-digit price tag can afford you 1kg bark, from which you can extract up to nearly 20g (purportedly) of DMT.

The trick is to cook the cactus snot to break down the mucilage. I thought all was lost when the green goo swallowed up my xylene, but immersing the jar in hot water for a few hours thinned everything right out. I think I ended up with about 0.8% yield of cactus-alkaloid HCl from my first extraction, and I'm sure that would come up with practice. It is pretty expensive and time-consuming though, certainly a labour of love.

Yeah, if you evaporated the solvent off and got nothing then you didn't pull the DMT in the first place. How much NaOH did you use? And how thoroughly did you mix the ethereal and aqueous layers (or polar and non-polar, whatever you want to call them)? Just don't throw anything away, you'll get there in the end, practice makes perfect.

Boo, that's a shame. I'm pretty sure that means you angered the cactus spirit, I think you need to appease it with animal sacrifices.
 
I'm thinking we didn't use enough Sodium hydroxide. We've used 750g of bark and we didn't break into the second 500g tub of Everbuild. Would it be fine to add more at this stage, after pulling the last load of solvent and repeating the process?

Same weight NAOH as bark for STB extraction...that'll be your issue, as vader suggested....so 750g bark, you needed 750g NAOH.

and yeah, should be fine to rebasify (is that a fucking word?) the bark..the alkaloids are in there, just need to be released, and then you can collect them all in your solvent...
