p.s. don't do heroin. pharmaceutical opiates are safer imo. or be like me.... my policy with opiates is that i'll only eat them if i didn't pay for them.

DXM, THC, and The Sitter ( movie)...

What an awesome experience (this may well be my first fully psychedelic experience that was largely nonvisual in nature). This illustrates the importance of set and setting to a drug experience. I have always been aware of DXM's incredible power but I've never really felt like going to that space. As a result of some waiting I became a bit bored and decided to try DXM the other day. I remember the MDMA-like euphoria it produced as well as a deliriant state that bordered on the psychedelic (incidentally I experienced a full blown delirium while being totally unprepared for it after taking a very small, 100mg, dose of doxylamine succinate). I also rediscovered hash oil after losing my tolerance for THC over several months. I instinctively then thought this would be a good idea to mix the two together and I read up on it and it looked like I was right. These drugs are made to go together and right now I'm on about 1.5 cc of hash oil and 450mg of DXM (I weigh 66kg).

But what made it great was watching The Sitter. I had watched The Matrix (the third one) earlier, culminating my Matrix watching experience in a psychedelic state (there's still Animatrix). That's also a great movie to watch. But The Sitter I felt was particularly appropriate for this situation. It made me think about how humans have been using, misusing, and abusing drugs during the course of their evolution and how we demonise drugs which means crap drugs like alcohol make it mainstream whereas drugs that could improve the human condition are held back.

The movie is about drugs of course, among many other things, but the trippy thing is that as I was tripping and watching this movie, this line "I had a monthlong, intense addiction to Robotussin!" got thrown out.

The movie Go! which was also a funny movie and made me think about MDMA now I feel should've connected Robotrippers to MDMA.

I am posting this in psychedelics since I think the combo of DXM + hash oil is extremely psychedelic. It's like a deliriant psychedelic mash up which says a lot about how our brain receptors work.

Also, my blood pressure is really high (130/110) as I'm coming down from this trip. Is this common?

I'm not an expert, but i recently read up a lot on this drug, since I'm going to try it myself.

Hash oil/THC and all apperantly does mix very well with dxm and intencifies it. THC raises your heart rate so I guess with the DXM, it added up to it. I think how you're feeling is normal...the DXM stays in the system for a week.

Since I'm going to try it myself, I'm wondering what amount i should do. 300mg affects people differently. Some people trip and others just get the drunk/stoned feeling. I'm wondering if I should go for 600mg, however I'm concerned how I might react because I dont want to lose my self control and start yelling or something, because I'm planning to do it at home during the night and my parents clearly won't be too fond of me doing this if they decide to check. I have a high tolerence with most drugs though, but I'm always cautious, hence why I ask.

I'm 5'7 and weigh about 117lbs or so. What's a good setting as well for it?
If i were to do 300mg, could I remain outdoors or would I grow too weak and tired?

You know even though I've tried DXM like 4-5 times in the last 15 years, I never really pushed it past the first plateau, usually around 120-150mg. This time I started off higher @ 225mg (and 2ccs of hashoil) and then redosed another 225mg + 2ccs at the three hour point. There was an hour or two (as the second dose was coming up and the first was going down) where it was the most intense but for the most part manageable. I had a hang over this morning which wasn't most pleasant and I can see why this has rarely resulted in me dosing twice in a row.

I'm going in again today but I hope today is the last of it for a little while (I already had planned to do it twice over the weekend). I'm starting with 375mg and 4ccs of hashoil (I develop a tolerance to the hashoil really rapidly these days to a point where if it weren't for the DXM I'd not be feeling much).

Personally I've had enough experiences in my life where pushing hard the first time around doesn't seem to be the best thing to do... particularly if you will be around others since you may not harm yourself but you definitely will give others a fright if you're in a delirium. I think the DXM FAQ's suggestions as to the range of dosages for each plateau is pretty good and as a first time user I'd never try crossing more than the second plateau (which is where the drunk/stoned feeling starts). If you're the cautious type, take it easy: you're talking about the difference between a second and a third plateau for your body weight. I've had a lot of experiences also but I've been hit hard by the teeniest overdoses especially when it involves dissociatives/deliriants. If you're familiar with dissociatives you could try a higher push to get close to the beginning of the third plateau but I'd not push past it the first time. That's just caution.

You are not likely to be very stable and again if you're on your own absolutely you should be fine but if there are others they are likely to notice. JMO.

By the way, what are the side after effects? How long do eyes stay dilated and all? Is the appearance an obvious give-away even after the trip is done?

The pupil dilation is intense! I've never seen anything like it. Previously I had the theory that dilation was strongly correlated to visual psychedelics (see the thread about the "most visual" psychedelic) but not anymore. (Hmm, always good science to falsify a hypothesis.) I've had zero open eyed visuals with my eyes are strongly dilated. I'm not sure if this will happen with everyone but it is a giveaway. I recommend wearing glasses instead of contacts (even clear glasses will mask pupil dilation at least a bit).

I'm one hour into my journey now. I love you all, etc. etc. etc. Man, there are times when I see so much potential for humanity and we fuck it all up doing stupid shit (I'm taking about wars and such). I consider this weekend really illuminating in terms of how we've created a society controlling the flow of small molecules (a small molecule world had to happen before a DNA/RNA/protein world). This is what I science on... (yep, this is a grammatically correct sentence).

I'm usually very concerned, even while on THC, about how people perceive my psychedelic states (what does this say about us) but with DXM (and it has to do with dissociatives I think) when I open my mouth, what comes out seems reasonably lucid and well thought out to me. There's no fear of "am I appearing normal"?

As long as the dilation doesn't last far too long after the trip....

When under the influence, you really start to notice and see the real issues of the world. When I did shrooms once, man, I couldn't stop talking about our society and people....I analyze things all the time, so I went quite in depth to explaining each argument. Also, usually I always am concerned of how people see me when I'm on something, though I rarely do anything publicly. It would be quite nice to feel no care for one's state.

I hope the trip improves for ya!

I'm doing well. Feel increadibly bored and want to try something new, hence why I'm on the forum I'll have a chance to grab some DXM on Monday... I just need to find the perfect conditions for it.

I'm in a difference space now so there's no "aim" per se. Sometimes trying to control my thoughts, sometimes going with the flow. I was coming back though (in fact I'm in first plateau again) so I redosed. 2ccs hash oil and 375mg DXM again. I'll continue to socialise. I'm good in my environment. That's it, no more for this weekend. (I still have 1cc of hash oil I may use later.)

In the past I've tried the syrup, this is the first time with the gelcaps. I think this is better.

DXM has a relatively short half life, of 1.5-3.9 hours. I feel at the 3-4 hour mark I'm tailing off...

I tried drinking cough syrup before and it's just far too disghusting for me to injest. I dont know what to expect when Im going to go purchase the DXM. All I know is that its pure, in pill form and was done by solvent/base seperations.

And really? It doesn't last that long what-so-ever it seems...

I might be able to pick up tomorrow...I'm thinking of doing it tomorrow night so I can simply leave the house early in the morning on Monday to avoid parents just in case since I have class. It doesn't require much concentration; photoshop and computer work is simple...

Would that be a good idea or does one get tired by the end of it?

The only work I would need to do is get dressed, get on a bus, pretend I'm paying attention, then perhaps leave. I've got an 8:45 class for 2 hours, then an hour break, then another simple class...

And I was only planning to stick with the 300mg. I won't go any over for my first time.

Would I just be feeling exhausted?
