Hey all just bought a bottle of Bisolvon Dry cough syrup, i intended to purchase a robbitusin syrup as i have read they are the safest/most effective way to get DXM but was unsuccessful.
I am aware of the dangers of DXM but have decided to try it just once to see what it is like. I have a few questions regarding the safety of the syrup i bought and will give you all the information i know about it.
Product: Bisolvon Dry 200ml
Ingedients:
Active ingredient:
dextromethorphan hydrobromide 10mg per 5ml
Other ingredients:
according to this product information website the syrup contains the following (website: http://www.mydr.com.au/cmis/ReducedPDFs/CMR08335.pdf)
-methyl hydroxybenzoate,
-saccharin sodium,
-maltitol solution,
-propylene glycol,
On the actual bottle it just says the following regarding different ingredients:
'Contains methyl hyrdoxybenzoate and saccharin sodium. The maximum adult daily dose of up to 60ml contains at least 18 g of maltitol and up to 6 g of sorbitol. Products containing maltitol andsorbitol may have a laxative effect or cause diarrhea.
Ok obviously that diarrhea warning is scary but I was just looking for some information regarding how safe this syrup is to use. I haven't been able to find any information regarding this particular product and any help would be appreciated.
