Do any of you find when your doing Oxycodone or Oxymorphone find that you don't really have an appetite? I find that I really only eat once a day, which is at night time. I drink fluids, But I have no desire to eat, my friend on the other hand is the complete opposite, he will eat non stop. I'm not sure if it really has to do with the Oxy use since its a CNS depressant. The rare occasion I do some coke my appetite doesn't change either.

Opinions?

Generally I'll get the munchies and/or get really thirsty... that is, assuming I'm not so fucked up to make eating impossible to begin w/

But at the same time, I don't really feel like I NEED to eat. I just associate eat/drinking (non alcoholic) with making me feel a little higher when on opioids (as I don't eat all that much filling food normally, so whenever I do eat I actually gain a mild sense of euphoria from the nourishment)

^ Same.

Although when I didn't have a tolerance, I would NOT have an appetite. Not because I was nauseous or anything, I just didn't feel like eating.

^True - that's kind of what I meant when I said I don't really get hungry when I'm super messed up. When I don't have a tolerance and I take a hefty dose, it's hard for me to do anything but become a sloth. Then again, for some reason I like ice cream a lot when I'm high on opioids. I normally don't like ice cream really at all. I'm more of a sorbet kinda guy ;)

Well I use everyday, I have a 200mg Roxy tolerance so its not like I get sick and don't want to eat. Im just NOT hungry...

You almost "forget to eat", as you are not hungry at all, but its easy to eat if you want to?...I was like that for years....and i was malnutritioned also...I was a horrible 40kgs by the time i was getting off last year..But yep op, i understand, i feel with me it was cause i just didnt think of eating..

Hey i also havent had a cold or flu for over 5 years! While i was using....Now on methadone, i dont get colds either...

cooking but not eating

I get energy from opiates. When I was really on them for long periods I lost weight do to not eating. Like one poster said, I'd eat once a day.
But I would cook like crazy and make food for everyone else. I'm a kitchen magician. I have a friend who keeps up is appetite. He is way over weight, but opiates keep him eating like crazy. Very person specific this appetite/opiates thing.

Eating fatty foods helps opioiods absorption as far as I know .. This Is y ppl feel higher after they eat. But yea the pleasure of eating is nothing to the positive reinforcement from IV opiates sooo it makes sense that this would take a backseat ... When ur really addicted u can't eat due to WD tho so after about 6-9 months I was only eating post h IV injection cuz it's the only time I could eat. I didn't really want to but I knew I had to so I'd always pick up some food on the way back from my grab. H was responsible for 15 lb weight loss ... It stayed off .. Over a year.

Oxymorphone actually seemed to make me hungry but I think it was only because I got into the habbit of eating a high fat meal before/during use after I heard it could increased the b/a. Morphine and dope always made me repulsed by food, while suboxone gives me the munchies worse the weed.

Same here about the OM. I <3 a good BBQ cheeseburger to boost my plasma levels! lol

Maybe I'm the only weird one, Oxymorphone doesnt make me hungry, I just did a nice fat line, combined with 2mgs of Xanax. (Yes risks I know, done this MANY MANY times before), not a single growl in my stomach nor any desire to eat. I have to pretty much force myself to eat dinner which is around 9pm for me.

It's not really that it makes me hungry, just that I'm so used to eating a fatty meal to boost serum levels. My subconscious associates it with food.

Its funny, I've always felt that eating sort of killed my high..

Often with hydro(blank) opioids I find this much the case! Especially when it comes to dairy. But with some of the really strong ones, assuming I take enough, as previously mentioned, all I can think about (when it comes to food) is a milk shake. I inevitably will get one. It won't be that good. And I'll end up throwing most of it away or giving it to some random homeless guy (after buying some nips and dumping those out in it of course)...

...then I'll end up with being upset with myself for spending needless money (yes I am jewish) and do more opioids/go to bed.

Benzos bring on the munchies hardcore for this poster.
Especially temazepam.

Agreed, although I find z-drugs do it even more so. I guess when I'm blacked out, cause it happens with a lot of alcohol too, I just loose all control...

Like, one night in college I took more "normal" dose of zolpidem, 10 or 20mg, lol I can't remember, and went to bed. Upon waking up I had the faint recollection of making something to eat late at night thanks to ambien munchies.

There is a stick of butter, sitting in all this powdered cheese from Annie's pasta mix, on top of a cutting board above a microwave I had brought into my room, and hard shell pasta all over the floor.

I was so confused - apparently I tried to make mac and cheese with powdered cheese mix and a stick of butter, realized that wouldn't work, so I gave up and went back to bed.

The s.o. was not too happy =D
