Tramadol - how much to take...

I've gotten a hold of 8 50mg Tramadols (so, a total 400mg). I'd say I have a pretty high opiate tolerance at the moment, not crazy high but high; for example, 20-25mg of methadone gets me nicely zonked, and when I do Opana about 10mg is my typical dose, sometimes 7.5, or 12.5 at the most. Given this, how much Tramadol should I take for a good strong opiate high? Also, is there any real danger in the whole seizure thing with these? Any precautions or advice I should know?

Also, does Tramadol have a cross-tolerance with Methadone? If so, how long after taking Methadone should I wait before taking Tramadol?

Strong opiate high, opiate high, just a high, whatever. I know it's not heroin. I doubt 400mg is worthless, my tolerance is high but not at all that high.

I don't know, When I first started using Opiates probably a 3-4 months in with an 80-120 mg OC Habit a day I took a bunch of Tramadol, I don't remember how much but it was a lot and I didn't feel anything like an Opiate high at all. Could be different for you I guess, I am just giving personal experience.

Taking 400 mg of tramadol will really drop your seizure threshold. I don't suggest you take that amount, but if you do make sure to take a benzo along with it. Any benzo will work, but clonazepam (Klonopin) or lorazepam (Ativan) are preferable as they are very strong anticonvulsants.

Also, I wouldn't recommend taking more than 400 mg in a 24 hour period. It could be dangerous.

Well your tolerance isn't that high in all honesty so you may get something out of the tramadol. I tried about 400 mg of tramadol back when my tolerance was 40 mg opana/day, and like mandrewraeth, I didn't even notice anything

For a Strong Opiate high? I don't think that is possible from Tramadol.

He's right... Even spacing your doses out to better metabolize it into o-desmethyl-tramadol won't give you what you're looking for. A tolerance of even 10mg oxymorphone will leave you just noticing the SNRI component of the medication, instead of the opiate-like aspect.

Tramadol also becomes somewhat dangerous at / above 400mg/day, as has been noted: significant reduction in seizure threshold. It's not normally recommended to mix opiates and benzos, but a good anti-convulsant one such as Clonazepam will do well to counter the lowered threshold.

In short: If a person has any substantial opiate tolerance, that individual is unlikely to safely get what they're looking for from Tramadol. ODT is a different story, but also not available from a pharmacy (not FDA approved...).
