Intramuscular Heroin injection safety advice please

I know IMing heroin is very dangerous, but can some people elaborate on the dangers and advice on how to do it? I've been doing it for a little while now. I don't want to fuck up my veins, I like wearing short sleeves and feeling normal.

Stop IMing it, definitely. It is extremely risky! Smoking on the other hand is the safest ROA in my opinion..

When you IM something you deposit it in your muscle where it just sits there. The drug is absorbed into your bloodstream, but quite a lot of material remains in the muscle. This foreign material is a perfect breeding ground for infection, and street drugs such as heroin can contain all sorts of crap along with loads of bacteria. There is a high chance that you will develop an abscess which can be very painful and unpleasant; it can also lead to septicaemia (blood poisoning) and amputation of the limb if it spreads. IMing drugs, especially street drugs, is one of the most dangerous practices there is..

If you do it, it is essential you use a micron filter and stay as sterile as possible - however I still consider it too risky with anything except sterile pharmaceutical grade chemicals.

I would strongly advise you to switch to smoking - you're lucky to have got away without any complications so far.. good luck!

from the slightly less pedantic pulpit lemme say this - it makes a HUGE difference if you're getting into muscling heroin if you're shooting china or tar - tar is really, REALLY dirty. like rode on a donkey thru mexico then was in someones ass THEN mixed in a vat w/water and shoe polish - so if you want to shoot that iv or otherwise, go right ahead, but your future has hospital visits for abcesses and no veins all over it. Now, if you have access to a source of china - and are not immunodeficient, you're golden. literallly cuz thats the color the water will be you can use a standard 1cc 1/2inch syringe and jam it in your leg to GREAT effect with little to no chance of infection provided you follow general injection technique. Seriously tho, if it's tar, just get some oc's and eat em or find a better connect

i agree - and in the interest of someone clearly wanting to engage in an activity, instead of being like "bah dont do it" i figured a steady answer from someone who had and was okay was preferable, correct me if i'm wrong?

There's two sides to every coin, however in this case he's getting some form of powder, likely brown, due to his location. You're still condoning the use of it which isn't in the best interest of safety and such. OP is willing to stop performing the activity, why not support that (better) idea?
