Benzos 1mg alprazolam lasting over 8 hours???

I prefer it over klonopin...that's just me though...I've never gotten a strong benzo feeling from klonopin though...

heh...I know what you mean...the only time I really care for taking it is if my anxiety is actually an issue, I'm in withdrawal (which is the same thing as anxiety to me...taking some k-pins now actually sounds great now that I think about it), or if I have a shit ton of it...

I would need like 1 months worth in 1 dose to feel any releif from anxiety, and klonopin never could alleviate my WD from xanax. I thought you could use any benzo to stave off the WD, but klonopin did literally nothing, maybe made my WD worse. Temazepam helped significantly.

I was talking about opioid withdrawal...went all day without taking meds trying to avoid having to deal with school while w/ding at the end of "the month" like I normally do...it's sad...I'm a dude and I have a "time of the month" lol...I didn't mean to go ALL day without them...I just remembered I needed to take them when the symptoms kicked in...and unfortunately...I'm having to wait on the fucks to kick in so I can go to bed...now, because of trying to make things easier on myself...I get to go to class with virtually no sleep lol...

The only time I had ativan is when I was taken to the hospital for a major panic attack. They tried all they could to calm me down but to no avail. They shot me up with something I later found out was ativan. It was the most pleasant thing I had ever experienced. It calmed me right down. I have NOTHING to compare the high to. Not even opiates.

Xanax on the other hand is nice, but not as pleasant as that time at the hospital with ativan. I occasionally take Xanax [Not prescribed] if i'm really anxious or if I can't go to sleep. I've been trying for ages to get my drug addiction psychiatrist [Notice the emphasis] to prescribe me Xanax or Ativan. He won't do it. He believes i'll get addicted to it. :|

This was my argument. If he doesn't prescribe them to me, I'll have to get them myself, which means I could get in trouble, and I'm wanting to avoid that. His response was something along the lines of this.. "Are you blackmailing me? YOU'RE BLACKMAILING ME!" Haha. 8)

well, unless you have some pretty severe disorder necessitating a benzo or other sedative/tranq with a high abuse potential, it is not uncommon AT ALL for doctors to resist prescribing anyone benzos if they know the individual has a history of addiction...

lol, it's pretty sad really - it seems like the majority of people who should be prescribed a benzo who really need them aren't while those who really have no legit need for them are prescribed them... I mean, this is something of a gross over generalization, and not all that accurate of a statement I admit, but you get my point... the industry treats addictions (most of the time) worse than dirt and 99.99% of recovery programs and rehabs exists first and foremost to turn a profit, if not to the benefit of all their employees certainly to the great benefit for their board/director/owner.

For instance, the guy who runs a rehab I tried in North Hollywood charges patients tens of thousands of dollars for treatment in his facility, pays his staff next to shit because he's successfully brainwashed them, constantly complains about costs, runs a bingo hall and so prays on the gambling addictions of old folks, yet still somehow makes a salary in the top of the six figure range... fucking travesty it is. almost makes me wanna get a gun and [blank blank blank blank]

Did I really just read someone express surprise when their addiction medicine doctor refused to prescribe xanax?

LMAO

And threatening to buy benzos off the street when your doctor refuses to prescribe it kind of is blackmail.

^Yea, can't lie... generally I try to have a constructive relationship with my doc. I don't think I've ever heard of ANYONE ever getting what they want by threatening their doctor...

hmmm when I was withdrawing from a bender with xanax, klonopin helped me out a ton. My w/d wasn't as bad as somebody who abuses them longterm but I was feeling sick and depressed/anxious. Since kpin has a longer half life it helped but as always YMMV

Lol. I really need Xanax because I have really bad anxiety issues. But NO DOCTOR will give them to me. I had to beg and plead with my primary doctor to give me ambien when I was coming off of suboxone so I could sleep. He gave it to me.. and it didn't do shit. I took all 8 of the 10 mg Zopidem that was in the bottle and the only way I got to sleep was because my bed was swaying back and forth like I was on a ship, sailing to some far away island. It was comfortable.

I would never do that with Xanax though. As of now I only take them as I need them. Which may be twice a month, if that at all. I'm trying to deal with the anxiety without the use of drugs.. sometimes though I just wake up one day and my anxiety is off the fucking charts. So I take around 1mg. That normally does the trick. Then I don't take anymore for another couple of weeks.

I don't think that no doctor will give them to you.

Try asking a psychiatrist instead of an addiction medicine specialist. The difference is night and day.

What's the difference between the two? They both know the same shit almost.

I believe a psychiatrist is more of a general, jack-of-trades, mental health MD that might or might not deal with addiction, while an addiction specialist is, well... an addiction specialist MD who deals with addicts day in and day out, plenty of which are addicted to the very same Xanax they won't prescribe to an addict.

That would be like asking the Pope to find you an illegal abortion doctor, it's just not what they do ;)

@hippychild Get a psych eval from a psych doc.Just be as honest as you can. If you need it, you'll probably get it. Like last poster said, that's not what addiction doctors do.

@OP Were those from a pharmacy? Almost sounds like a fake pill given your use w/ other benzos.

lololololol

Gotcha.

Precisely. Can your imagine what your addiction medicine doctors boss would think of him prescribing xanax to an addict? That wouldn't go over.

It might.. lol. My doctor was a LT.Col before he retired from the military. He was also in Military intelligence.

He knows the truth about a lot of shit but won't tell me. Everytime I ask if UFO's are real, he changes the subject really quickly by asking me a question like he didn't even hear what I said..

My bupe doc had no problem prescribing temazepam but its only 30x 30mg capsules.. doesn't go very far. He mentioned prescribing someone xanax while they were tapering their dose.. I didn't inquire further because I recently experienced what benzo withdrawals are like and they were worse than even the most severe opiate withdrawals were for me. Honestly it was plain scary..so I decided that the cost outweighs the benefits big time.. nothing is worth that kind of hell.

I cringe thinking about what withdrawals would be like if I was on a solid year muchless a decade.

@@hippiechick lol at your doctor knowing the truth about aliens.
