^ indeed! Do go steady Siccy though, all this poly-drug binging will catch up with you eventually <3

Weed can be kinda psychedelic and definitely sedative (obv) and I guess you still had a little bit of heroin in your system - or your body was exhausted from your multi-drugging and so the weed hit you harder than it usually would..

Slept well thanks Lou-love <3 just passing through, am not really here ;)

Hope you are all well!

^ in low doses it probably isn't anything to worry about too much, but that's the physiology behind it and it's especially important if you have taken a lot - as then your alpha adrenergic system is really firing and you will struggle if you knock out your beta system :)

How are you today? I'm only popping on briefly, out shortly <3

I smoked weed and then felt the effects of heroin hard, like i was nodding but i only smoked i was so fucked up

I get what you're saying.

I've smoked herb and had a "state dependent memory" trigger and be tripping balls or, yes, almost nod off (on different occasions).

Good morning everyone else. :)

Hola ef <3

I woke up pretty early;

eating whole packages of pepperoni, a shit load of ice cream, and baked pasta has left me w/ wonderful heartburn / nausea. Thankfully I have my trusty tagamet here. ;)

Also - bought some oxy yesterday even tho I have my hydro - and I was disappointed. Granted I only got it to sniff something (ah well), but it just didn't seem to have been worth the time and money. Today I munch hydro and be productive. :D the oxy also left me with a hangover of sorts, like it always does (I know the particular feeling all too well), and my hydro, at a higher effective dose (more high, more analgesia), doesn't do this (to the extent).

Hope you have a good day as well! :D

Thanks <3 off to my friend's funeral.. devastated :( lots of friends going though, we can all support each other.

Wonderful start to my birthday weekend hah.. mind you, Dave's funeral was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen and weirdly was one of the better days during the intensely bad first month. Something about being around others who loved them too, and paying tribute to their life rather than focusing on their death <3

I'm ok, got a medication overuse hedache. I used to pop one of my 80mg time release ones before using, stopped my heart racing lol. How are you doing? Hopefully speak to you properly later.

xx

Yep, sure is. Stims fire up your sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight mechanism) which has two parts - alpha adrenergic and beta adrenergic. Alpha is mainly involved in vasoconstriction, amongst other things, where as beta is involved in your heart rate/force (also dilating airways in your lungs). Beta blockers only knock out the beta part, so they slow your heart down but leave unopposed alpha arenergic stimulation which can lead to severe vasoconstriction. As blood flow is reduced (heart slowed and beating less forcefully) this means blood can have difficulty getting to the tissues eg limbs and heart (which can cause a heart attack). It's not a good idea to combine them an you wouldn't be given them in hospital for a stim overdose unless under very controlled conditions, or a combined alpha and beta blocker was used.

As an aside, the reason many asthmatics can't take beta blockers is beta adrenergic stimulation dilates your airways; beta blockers (especially non cardioselective ones like propranolol) can constrict them, triggering an attack,

/science lesson :D

Morning guise, I'm just passing through..

I checked the best I could this morning and the drug interaction site didn't indicate any problems ?? juts goes to show, just like you not actually being ther when you made that post, you cant trust the tinterweb ;)

Ahh good morn BDD,

http://www.drugs.com/drug_interactions.php

This shows no problems with Propranolol and Ritalin and its usually quite cautious with its results, so I'd have to say either ...Doug what do you actually have to hand ?

bit of a concern as they are usually super cautious, maybe Ritalin wasn't the best stim to enter as an example ??

Ritalin is a DNRI not a dopamine releaser (cocaine is too) so mayyybe but I doubt it - it still acts on the sympathetic nervous system..

I would imagine that therapeutic doses are okay, but if you are hammering stims and giving yourself bad vasocontstriction then it could potentially be really dangerous.. it is in the A+E protocol for handling a stim OD.

How are you atm? <3

Haha :D glad you liked them! Always a pleasure to see you Lou m'dear :) <3
