Any talent on bl

That sounds very familiar to me, Ponti. When full of youthful hubris it was much easier to convince meself that other folks would have any interest in reading my lil efforts at wordiness. Also had the odd bit and bob published (the BBC used an essay of mine in their training manual apparently - buggers never paid me for it if they did :!) but these days it's all self-hypercriticism. Just end up revising and rewriting anything I have a stab at into oblivion. Need a bit more youthful swagger (or oldman couldn't-give-a-tossery) to keep it fresh enough to be worth owt.

Actually making stuff always impresses me more whether it be sockpuppet or music or whatever else y'all talented folks are up to.

I used to be good at kayaking and sailing before university, when I gave both up for drinking lol. I am completely talentless when it comes to the arts though!

^^ Nice pics, JS :)

That would be proper artiness (cos things are recognisably as things) which is beyond me but the great thing with arty stuff as a hobby is you only have to please yourself really. And I do. Although that mostly involves a very similar subject with different colours it seems. Need to get out and about more for a bit of inspiration.

Photography I was quite good at (cos I studied it for years at college) but never really got into Photoshopping stuff and more or less anyone can produce a decent photpic these days talent or none.

Ponti: Also sounds familiar. The thought of having to send stuff to be decided upon by publishers and agents always filled me with dread. The fact that anyone can publish anything for themselves now has a lot of appeal. If also unlikely to pay the bills. Then again, even a proper publishing deal has slim chance of actually paying any bills. Do it for the enjoyment and owt else is but a bonus really.

Pete - I hope you already know how absolutely fuckin whheyyyyy yer art is mate :)

Shut up Monsta you are very talented! %) thank you for sharing :) <3

A4B I want to hear toooo!
You shall make me blush my lady 8) Hehe <3 Thankyou mate.
And I wish to have my ears sample what you create too A4B!

Thanks for the linkies, Monsta. Recall being rather impressed with an album of your tunes you posted here ages ago so will be pottering about yer choonage again :)

Always wished I had any talent for music but I definitely don't. No false modesty required on that one sadly. I can muster up a few chords on the geetar but putting them together to make more than an annoying noise is way beyond me :\
My pleasure Shammy :) Ooooh... That could have been the free 2-part album... I'll find the links to that and post them up here so they can be grabbed at will ;)

---Edit---

Here we are:
Forests Of The Free (Shadow)
Forests Of The Free (Sun Light)

And I think you'll have some musical creativity in there somewhere man - I mean, check out Whitehouse - They make "annoying noise" and are doing really well =D (If Samhain sees this.... :D )

I feel everyone should have a stab at any creative process :) There's nothing more human than to create, and to create art...
There are so many different levels to art. There's "hidden messages" and passion and all sorts that you just don't get from any other form of creation.
Well, that's my rambling brain's view lol/

Actually making stuff always impresses me more whether it be sockpuppet or music or whatever else y'all talented folks are up to.
Exactly - Anything creative that's asthetically pleasing is a wonderful part of life :)

I am also a music producer~
You should share some of your work with us if you feel like it mate :) Though I know how harsh it can be to put something that's such a big part of you out there for others too make opinions of.
Still, we'd all be really up for listening!

I'm a Musician and Producer.
I'm mainly a Guitarist, but I recently picked up a Bass Guitar and have started playing Piano, since the winter.
The music I produce is usually Dubstep/Brostep, House and DnB. But I never really put anything on Soundcloud, I'm the proud owner of two tracks, there. I haven't been happy enough with any of it, I'm too much of a perfectionist.

EDIT: I'm a more typically a Jazz Guitarist, by the way.

I'm a flair bartender, although I'm a bit out of practice. Got invited to compete in Brighton's first international flair competition recently, but I politely declined because I haven't practiced properly since last summer, plus I don't really like doing comps. Should have probably just gone for it in retrospect, will make sure to do another one if I get the chance. Got a video here but it's 3 years old now, you can get an idea though: http://youtu.be/CYGG2QSCT6U

That top one makes me think of "A clockwork orange" the book not the film, I've just finished it and that is how I imagine the main character, Alex knocking on the old lady with the cats door the red of the impending violence. I like it very much, I take it you have used a photograph as the base.

I have never developed any really creative talent but I have a talent for understanding complex systems, both electronic and mechanical easily, as well as an ability to find solutions to problems in both areas. I have no real formal training in either to any great level but the educational requirements for my new job were "A high quality Bachelors degree, with a post graduate business qualification" I've got some O levels and that's it and was head hunted for the job, so I must have something good going on there.

This year I'm going to try my hand at metal sculpture I can weld..sort of so I thought I'd give it a go, in my early youth I did a fair amount of artwork and particularly liked working with clay, I no good at drawing and it holds no interest for me but sculpture is something I find quite intriguing. whilst I don't find paintings and, lets call it 2d art personally interesting for me to create I love to look at others work, we take our kids regularly to the Tate modern and art exhibitions.

I cant remember the last time we went but ther was an "installation" that looked like a room that was being redecorated for a new exhibition or something but as you looked you slowly realised that everything was fake right down to the milk carton on the work bench, which when you looked at it closely was very carefully molded acrylic or a similar material with all the writing added by hand, I found it fascinating.

I need to spend a little more time on my creative side as I've neglected it over the years.

i used to be in a lot of bands when i was teen, i play bass guitar, ska, punk, rock, that kinda thing. played a lot around the south coast, biggest gig was at concorde2 in brighton.

still play just for my own entertainment, starting messing around with reason but i really dislike sitting at a computer making music so haven't made much effort. want to get some hardware like a korg esx but it would just be for my own enjoyment. this is about the most effort i can muster with software.

just got some decks, need to expand my jungle collection (only 4 records so far) but want to get mixing down, maybe play some parties, nothing too serious.

i try and make music, but don't know if it counts as talent - i really enjoy the process itself; never quite happy with the results (though it makes sense to me - here if you're bothered). i don't want to make a living from it though so treat it as a hobby and don't worry about it (though my job is related). play some 'real' instruments too i spose.

i think my talent may be more verbal/word-based really though never got round to developing it (always thought i had a sci-fi novel's worth of cosmic ideas rattling round my head, but haven't got round to trying yet (maybe everyone thinks that until they try it) - when i'm feeling lunched out i always remember dick king-smith (who wrote babe) started writing in his 60s and had 100 books published (albeit kids books), so still time...) - although the book publishing world looks as uninspiring as the music one...

Oh and for a more 'x-files' talent, i seem to have some sort of 'magic touch' with electrical devices (especially computers) - not with fixing them; just when people ask me to look at their computers/devices and they seem to work straight away (though of course it doesn't work on demand or for financial gain) - maybe i just know a lot of dull people with computers...

/oh and maybe a talent for overlong didactic inaccurate political rambling (eh msb ;)

(will check everyones' links tomorrow when back with my speakers :) )

You can make 'puters work at a mere touch? Noted. Now that is a talent I definitely lack and could sorely do with sometimes :\

unfortunately not reproducible (or even existent) - just one of those things that's probably happend a handful of times but sticks in the mind

just thought i should spice my 'talents' up a bit...

/ or i'm actually some real life peter petrelli... ;)

Did anyone else see this thread title and expect to see a request for bluelight members with nice bodies and Massive tits?

...or have I just spent too much time in the past taking GBL and 'reading' Nuts and Zoo magazine.

I'd go with that... ;)

Loving all the stuff here. Drugs and art/music, it's a tried and tested formula.. :D
