:D So I just wrote out some lines of Dulce Et Decorum Est for uni...kinda like a typefacing exercise. It got me thinking about how unique people's handwriting is...As unique and personal as a face. Show me what your handwriting looks like!

I went through a phase of being heavily into graffiti during my teens, and it's left me with really inconsistent handwriting style - sometimes it is really swirly, other times virtually ineligible
 
I have shit handwriting, always have. As a lefty, I find it particularly difficult to write neatly. Something about going against the flow of writing, rather than with it as a righty would, makes it difficult. Any other lefties have the same problem?

My Doctor uses a Fountain pen to write my Methadone script btw
 
My style? I call it the art of writing.... without writing.

It varies like mad from day to day, I'm not sure if it's actually evolving or just changing. My right arm acts up a bit which throws in some interesting variations but I looked at a bit of paper I'd made copious notes on over a few days and they could have been done by different people. Funnily enough I was bang into graffiti for a while, I wonder if that had anything to do with it being in a constant state of flux.

Tis not a fountain pen, it's a v ball
 
Not too sure about the curly flourishes there, Pete. Though I must admit to putting oversized tails on the same letters ('g', 'y' etc.), though mine are almost angular.

Sadly I'm not able to scan mine from here so the amateur graphologists out there will have to wait. It's been called a little 'girly' before though, which really pleased me no end.
 
^ Ah cmon, it's only fucking handwriting. I really don't see how this is, in any realistic way, incriminating ourselves.
 
I think my handwriting is slightly less recognisable than my face, not that I would but many seem happy to. I would post up a pic but it is diabolical. I think you've destroyed your own thread by putting us all to shame in the first post Pete! My handwriting looks like someone has broken all my fingers, so I just type everything.
 
The French are mad into graphology - they use it on job applications to determine your character.. think it's kinda been debunked as a reliable tool... it's interesting though - I reckon I should have been a doctor, going by my illegible (to everyone but myself) scrawl.

Graphology's the kind of quite-probably-total-bollocks that it's easy to get yourself absorbed in. Like the Atlantis myth, or reading Stormfront. Maybe the latter's just me.
 
Cool thread.

I'm interested to see people's finger prints, I hear they're each meant to be unique.

We could make a competition out of it - use some ink and some paper and scan in the results.

I'll choose the winner and pop round their house with the prize early one morning.
