Datura takers?

Dear Mods, being that Datura is a deleriant, I didn't want to look stupid putting this thread in the psychedelics forum.

I've been very curious about this little devil of a plant for a while now. I have some growing around the house in arms reach. I've read many of the reports on erowid about it. Although I don't base all my researching only on erowid, I do have a pretty good idea what it does.

I'm currently in a critical mental state right now, which means I won't be taking it anytime soon.

I just want to know has anyone here taken it before? And if so, what happened? Can you elaborate for me? The reason I ask is because I never see anything about Datura on these boards.

I find stuff like Diphenhydramine and Diphenhydrinate to be very uncomfortable. Is datura the same like them?
 
I do not believe I ever heard one positive trip report about Datura. Nothing but horror stories.

In my research, I've read certain shamans know how to handle Datura and the like.

I know there are people on this board who has had an experience with this plant.
 
I have also never heard anything good about datura.

And weren't you just telling Pars101 to stay the fuck away from deleriants?

By saying "I won't be taking it any time SOON" you're very VERY much implying that you WANT to try it.
LOL, what the hell, you cannot say your original post on this thread doesn't imply that you want to take it. You always contradict yourself. "Suboxone should be banned" was the first outrageous statement, and now that tricolmb called you out, you've contradicted yourself again. I don't understand it!

Sounds like you're itching for a fight when the good folks here are just trying to be helpful!!

There are quite a few threads/posts that will elucidate the vagaries of a Datura experience and leave you in no doubt what you might have to look forward to. They make fascinating, funny and oft-times tragic reading. Just do a search.

Yup, many years ago, I have eaten it on its own and I had some added to a mad tea brew that these hippys made up, had weed, mushrooms, datura, and brown snake venom in it, we got full night vision and were running around in this forest in total darkness but could see everything, but it was just total chaos, impossible to bring anything usefull back from the experience. But i know people that like it and take it regularly, they say just keep the doses low and dont ever try and be a hero with it.

I personally would not take it again.

Datura has been used traditionally by the Mapuche-Huilliche and the Jívaro tribes of South America as a last-resort punishment for unruly children.

I also rememeber reading that you can plant some outside your bedroom window and just get the scent of it wafting in at night to give you trippy dreams, that sounds like a pretty non invasive way to experience it.
 
Wow... that's reassuring. You know, i'm not the type to say.. "My experience will be different, and it will be good." Cause I don't know for sure.

I seriously think my trip would be horrible beyond words. I'm very pessimistic about things, and I constantly worry about any and everything.

Is my heart beating fine? I'm I about to die? How is my breathing? You know, just the typical depersonalization shit. Then I worry about worldly things, you know, the stuff we can never predict that will happen? Someone dropping a nuke where I live. Tornadoes, Earthquakes, etc.

I seriously believe taking Datura in my state would be a death sentence. But I can't seem to shake the feeling i'm being pulled to it.. like it's calling me to come play.

Anyways, like I said before, I WILL NOT be taking Datura anytime soon. I understand the serious consequences that await me if I take that next step.

Nobody has answered my question yet.. How is Datura similar to Diphenhydramine and Dimenhydrinate? I hate both of those highs with a passion.

^All of those are antimuscarinic agents (block acetylcholine receptors of the muscarinic subtype in one way or another). My recommendation to anyone interested in exploring delirium is to go with heat dried amanita muscaria from an established ethnobotantical vendor. Of the common highs from this class of drugs it seems to have the least side effects. I tried it once. It was interestingly amnestic. I imagine it might even be sort of pleasant at moderate doses for some, but whatever. I doubt I'll ever do it again.

I overdose on a huge massive dose of Datura.
I will write it up soon one day when I'm feeling better from my mexy overdose. :\

Datura is the only one I actually ever went to the hospital on to get my stomach pumped while tripping balls in front of the cops through a catheter because I refused to do a piss test in front of the cops.

..... yeah. Datura... Not so fun.
3 days out of my mind.
