MXE and mirtazapine

Yes.

I've used MXE without any problems with mirtazapine. Mirtazapine is one of the safest antidepressants as it has very few dangerous interactions with other drugs. It's a strange antidepressant, it actually slightly increases the effects of psychedelics for me.

Edit: Here's a useful thread about how mirtazapine interacts with different drugs: Antidepressants and Recreational Drugs (long!)

Although in my case it doesn't potentiate psychedelics that much, only slightly.

No, mirtazapine is known to actually potentiate psychedelics for many people, including me. Without tolerance, a large dose may "stop" a trip, but this also has to do with its very powerful sedative effect without tolerance (it knocks you out and puts you to sleep). It doesn't have any noticeable impact on MXE, the same applies to ketamine. It's not prescribed as an anti-psychotic drug.

Well it actually a 5ht2a "ANT"agonist but ket and mxe dont work on 5ht2a but acid and peas do

Correct, but no one really knows why it doesn't block or reduce the effect of psychedelics in practice like it should do in theory.

A few quotes from the antidepressant and recreational drugs thread I linked to above:

Ketamine: The effects of this drug should not be altered by mirtazapine and the combination is not known to be dangerous.

Hallucinogens (LSD/Acid, psilocybin/Shrooms, Tryptamines, 2-ct-2,DPT, DMT etc, Salvia) Hallucinogens seem to be MUCH stronger in combination with mirtazapine, so please be VERY CAREFUL! A dangerous interaction with shrooms has been observed in one person taking mirtazapine. Please avoid hallucinogens while taking mirtazapine or dose very carefully.

Now, personally I think the latter quote is over the top. Everyone is of course individual but for me mirtazapine only slightly potentiates psychedelics, if at all. But one thing is sure, mirtazapine does not block a psychedelic trip (I'm now especially referring to those who take it continuously).

Anyway, the OP asked about MXE and the answer is still yes, MXE works perfectly with mirtazapine and there are no known dangers. I've taken MXE tens of times on mirtazapine.

Right cos on time I had 500mg 6apb I was fucked for about a week no sleep constant psnic attacks mirtazapan just made it worse i was trying to knoc my self out I had like three at once at one point and nothing

I don't think mirtazapine is that effective to knock yourself out. I took my daily dose, 15 mg, 30 minutes ago and I just feel warm and fuzzy, sedated and a bit groggy and sleepy. I like this feeling.

If you want to knock yourself out you need some seriously strong anti-psychotics like Seroquel. Not only does a large dose completely stop a trip, it hits you like a brick. Works for stimulants too, a sufficiently large dose will inhibit the release of dopamin from your brain. It's a nasty, extremely powerful drug but it does its job.

Going off topic too much now, I'll leave it here.

Sorry for being off topic but it usual does knock me out if not under influence if say ive had enought of a bad day

Maybe this could explain why mirtazapine increases psychedelic effects.

This came from a psychiatrist, explaining to me why risperdal and a SSRI can be prescribed at the same time. I thought they would cancel each other out but there´s even supposed to be a synergy (if docs use this word) between the two (back then i was diagnosed with a drug induced psychosis and depression btw).

The serotonergic antagonism of risperdal can have paradoxical effects at low doses. When only a small part of the receptors is affected, there are more intersynaptic neurotransmitters available which can actually cause an increase in the receptor "fire-rate". Maybe this could explain why mirtazapine increases psychedelic effects.

Mirtazapine acts on norepinephine as a receptor agonist. If MXE is an antagonist (I might be wrong here)

is there any associated risks with this?

The absolutely intense almost delerious drousyness of mirtazapine stops after 1-2 weeks of continuous use.
