to the mods: sorry if this is in the wrong place i didnt seem to think asking such a thing was better in the trading post. if it needs to move itself please no worries and i apologize :)

where the hell does one get equipment in Aus?!

im trying to get a setup and i just cant seem to do it. and im not talking ebay i can online shop but even there ive found slim pickings. tried gumtree didnt have much even with the filters to include the whole country. anyone a dj? anyone know where a man can get a hold of some equipment(new)?

and also anyone know of any good places to try and grab a night or a set here or there. im not into the dubstep fad. listen to it but i would rather not mix it. not wanting to steal anyones party night just wondering where i should start....pointers if you will!

yea it sucks man you can almost multiply anything in the us price wise by 2 and you get its price here. i understand why but it still blows i think there is a more we do it cause we can now a days you know? thanks for the reply man. you spin?

thanks for all the help guys! i broke down and used ebay and won what i wanted. so as long as everything is legit ill be good to go! got a mixdeck. i thought its cdjs, controller, 2 usb ports, and i can easily take it back to the US if and when i move back. it also has loads of positive feedback so im excited. any of you spin? live in the brissy area? i would love a dj partner

I alternate between djwarehouse.com.au, storedj.com.au and djcity.com.au depending on the price/product :)

According to this newish song they play on the radio, my plumbers a dj.

Maybe perhaps ask your local plumber for DJ'ing advices next time he comes to fix ya tap?

haha anyways back to topic.

if you dont mind 2nd hand stuffs try out cash converters yoooooooooooooooooooo :)

All the above mentioned stores/websites are good for CDj's/Vinyl etc.

There's also the option of going digital, getting a laptop, a good external soundcard and using programs like Torque/Ableton etc. I personally think that's cheating, but then vinyl spinners think CDJ's are cheating. Each to their own.

^only drum circles and howling is not cheating, and only if you made the drum yourself out of an animal hide from an animal that you killed with your teeth.
