Greetings bluelighters,
I am new to iv use (certainly not opiates) , but a few weeks ago started iv'ing h. Missed vein n hand, last night it was just itchy, today, sore and swollen, should i have any major concerns? Or just ride it out & it will settle own its own? no skin discoloration btw. I'm so glad i found you guys. And what the hell does "swim" mean anyway, lol sorry, newbie,,lol. Thanks for any input-

Swim means to propel the body through water by using the limbs..
I don't know..don't worry..lots of ppl are
confused as to it's meaning..lol

welcome..I know someone will be along to help you soon..sorry..
no experience in that area..best of luck though!

Swim=Someone who isn't me. As for your hand, where exactly did u inject and what quantity of the solution?

5/6 cc's of h. seems to be alright, just swollen and sore, but i think I'm ok, just did the same thing to my other hand, (whoopsy daisy)I'd say lol. but the truth is it's not funny. I think I'll be alright, just loved the forum, and wanted to be sure. Are we not sure gov. agents don't post here fishing???? That's the realquestion????

Oh...I should have said,...ahhh...a buddy of mine,....not me,...is really posting these questions, not ME , he just doesn't have a p.c..................................(Swim).....:)

I don't know why people are so keen to use hand veins. Welcome to Bluelight!

To answer your question, you want to take a sharpie/pen and draw around the circumference of the inflammation. As time progresses forward, if the inflammation gets worse, you should go to a doctor.

You can also use a heat compress in the mean time. Triple antibiotic ointment (Neosporin) will help too.

Using "swim" is against the rules. There is no pool aboard the S.S. Bluelight.

Welcome! :)
Glad to have you! You are in the right place. <3
IV use is a very serious issue. As a HARM REDUCTION site we do in no way condone or recommend IV use of any kind. It is,however, something that many engage in and regardless of if you are new or experienced, proper knowledge of IV techniques,as well as,the risks and dangers of IV use should be sought out inexhaustibly.

As someone who just kicked a horrible IV habit(I highly recommend getting off the needle!:) we have a great support community here to help<3), I encourage you to research other ways to use. Yet as a believer in HARM REDUCTION I do feel it is my duty to provide THE FACTS about the subject.

As a member of staff,I encourage to send PMs,or private messages,to me-or ANY staff member- if you have questions or need assistance. I will be happy to help you learn how to use Bluelight to find the facts about IV use,it's dangers, alternatives, techniques ect... by starting you out with some links of interest and how to find them by using the Bluelight specific search engine. Just send me a PM and I will be glad to help you find and utilize ALL the information on this topic.

Again, neither myself or Bl condone or recommend IV drug use of any kind. But in the name of HARM REDUCTION I will happily help you via private messaging if you feel you still need help in locating the information you are looking for. Never hesitate to contact ANY staff member if you have questions or need help! <3

Much peace and love............skillz =D
