Codeine and CWE Megathread - The long awaited!

Got a bottle of 40 Chemists Own pain tabs 10/500

They have two portions, one marked C and the other O.

It's a long shot, but is there a chance one side is codeine and the other paracetamol?

Ive used them, they dissolve heaps well but taste like shit, yuck :S And no they are not splittable. None of the OTC ones are as far as I know.
 
^ I know! I was so happy and surprised with how quickly they dissolved.

I normally mix my CWE with some sort of drink though so I don't have to taste it, even though I could definitely get some bitter yucky notes with my orange juice. :D
 
^ Not really no, unless it's a brand that doesn't dissolve easily (mersyndol, nurofen plus, etc)
 
Is rectal administration of codeine more effective than oral administration?The only reason im thinking of plugging my CWE is cos i had a huge dinner a few hours ago :)

No because it needs to be metabolized in the liver and plugging will by pass that thus not allowing it to be converted. Plus do u really want to plug 100-200ml up ur rear end?
 
is it better to cycle apap and ASA or is it better to use only one? I've been using codeine combined with apap for a year or two, but now I'm thinking of switching to the asprin formula.

I've plugged tylenol 1 many times and it's been working just fine for me. I can't stand the taste anymore and plugging is a lot easier than having to wait for an empty stomach. the high isn't delayed to much either.
 
Who doesn't?!
If you're serious about plugging, then you would probably have to evaporate some of the water by fan, which takes a long time. So by then your stomach would be empty.

I get the feeling that you aren't Australian (Tylenol - you're American or Canadian, right?), but I'm just going to put it out there that here all the aspirin and codeine brands I've seen are dissolvable aspirin so NOT suitable for a CWE.

I don't cycle, I am on prescription NSAIDS so can't really be using ibuprofen or aspirin at all.

As for plugging... I've seen posts of others doing it and they claim it works well so go figure.
 
So I've just taken about a gram of codeine extract (stupid I know), and it's 15 minutes in and I'm actually getting a heavy buzz. I've taken up to 800mg with little to no buzz, and the previous two days I've taken about 700-800mg each. I don't suppose I'm going to die, am I?
 
^ With tolerance, of course, I've dosed up to 3 grams (ridiculous I know, kids don't try this at home).

Whenever I had to bump up due to tolerance I'd do it in increments of 240mg. You may get a larger histamine reaction, when my doses were crazy high and I had let my tolerance to the histamine release go down it would be very, very uncomfortable... hives, swelling, difficulty breathing, etc...

Have you got an antihistamine on hand?
 
No, I don't. I'm not really concerned, it just hit me really really hard. This is higher than any other codeine high I've ever had, ridiculous.
 
Yes, but it died down. Now I can hardly feel a high. I don't think this stuff is worth it any more, I should probably go back to sobriety. It's been 2 months since I've been sober for over a week now, so I hope it's not too hard.

I thought the codeine was abzorbed into the blood stream and then goes through the liver where its converted into morphine?also i thought i read somwhere that codeine can be used any way besides smokiing snorting and IV'ing.Please somone correct me if i am wrong :)

also i should only be puttin 40-60ml of water up me bum bum but yeah even thats too much,i just chuged it with 10mg valium n it did the trick

Yeah codeine tapers are absurdly easy. Just drop your dose by 50 - 150mg a day, then when you hit 50 or 100mg, swap to popping the pills, keep dropping till you're using under 50mg a day then cut it off and you're done.

Codeine has to be metabolized to C6G by UGT 2B7 (uridine diphosphate glucuronosyl transferase) in the liver and roughly about 5%-7% of codeine is metabolized by cytochrome P450 CYP2D6 into morphine.
Using other administration by passes this process and makes codeine useless and none if it is metabolised into morphine. U can try it but it takes quite sometime to enter the liver via the bloodstream making it pretty useless. You want it to hit fast and hard.
