How much water do you drink a day?

Of course, water is life and some of the biologists considered it life for protoplasm. But the excessive
usage like 6-8 ltr a day can cause drapery. Does anyone of you know it?

i seriously doubt anyone here who has posted drinks the amount stated in one go.

I think so far I've had about 3 litres of water today...almost time for bed so that's pretty good with some more before bed to w(h)et ma whistle.

3.5 -4 litres is usually how much I drink per day on average I'd guess... OP - SIX FUCKING LITRES?!?! jesus...too much I reckon. Moderation bro.

2 litres is purely survival - that will still have your piss going yellow throughout the day.

^^ it depends on the individual - how much they sweat, what else they might be eating/drinking, medical conditions, activity level etc. I personally don't think I need 3-4 litres a day - 2 to 2.5 is enough for me to make my urine clear on most days. It would have to be a pretty hot day and I would have to be sweating heaps to have to drink 3 litres or more.

The advice stating 6-8 glasses or 1.5 to 2 litres is pretty arbitrary but might be enough for some people. The key is how hydrated you are and to use common sense throughout the day according to what you're doing. For example, if I'm exercising, I sweat heaps in summer so I drink 2 glasses before and after exercise.

Lately around 3-4 liters. No sweating usually. But I have been waking up with dry mouth. Went to sauna for first time in awhile today. I rained.

After keeping the water levels quite high for awhile now i feel more sensitive to dehydration, i can feel myself dehydrate, especially when im drunk, or during the night. when drinking alcohol i end up drinking water between drinks, my body gives me a subtle indication. pretty good i reckon. has avoided a few hangovers as well

I don’t really keep track but water is all I drink. The only exceptions are tea in the morning and when I eat pizza( I need an orange soda) or when I have a burger(I need a coke). I always have a bottle or glass of it nearby that I sip.

i eat an enormous, no, "adequate" amount of raw vegetable matter every day.

shove your acidified 64oz up your medical industrial complex blowhole

heres some tips, and always remember, WESTERN CULTURE IS ONLY OUT TO MAKE YOU A SLAVE:

1) cold beverages retard digestion and metabolism
2) sodas are poison
3) drinking fluids with meals inhibits digestion

fuck everything about western cuisine, period.

"3) drinking fluids with meals inhibits digestion" is true, according to the ADA and my professors (RDs) since when you drink fluids, it dilutes the stomach acid, meaning there is less available for the meal. So, if you have problems with indigestion, they (the ADA and my professors) suggest limiting fluids to about 20 minutes before and 20 minutes after.

Also, I don't know about cold beverages slowing digestion, but I know they make your body have to work to bring it to body temperature--This is why drinking body/room temperature liquids is the best.

im a bit confused

a whole shitload usually. i carry a water bottle with me and drink from it compulsively. been up about two hours and i think i'm on my fourth 20 oz refill.

I drink a hell of a lot of water. abeing an opiate addict I am always super thirsty. I carry my water bottle with me everywhere. I probably drink well over '8 glasses' a day... probably twice that. My urine TODAY is a *1* on that chart above. However in the morning it looks pretty freaking yellow. :/

Lol. I know its not good. I absolutely hate it, one sip and Im disgusted. I have exceptions though as when under the influence, or at an event/festival.

It's because your body doesn't know how to appreciate the "lack of taste" of water. Your taste buds are probably on general overload with drinking soda / juice or whatever you fill that void with.

If you're looking to try becoming more hydrated, you can actually water down your favorite drinks so that your tongue and body come back to equilibrium.

Just my thoughts, anyway. I know that I cannot, for the life of me, handle hard liquor, so I water a shot down so it doesn't taste as bad. Maybe doing the same thing will work for you, going backward.
