Hello sorry if this question has been asked and answered but I couldn't find anything like it. So my friend shot a 50 bag of H and this usually gets him nice. Now while he did get high he said he felt pain in his finger tips and head a very odd prickly feeling that lasted around 20 seconds almost a feeling like when a part of your body is falling asleep but alot more painful. Now non of us have ever OD'ed so that's what we thought was happening but he turned out fine. If anyone has ever experienced this or knows what happened please share thank you!

Could be an arterial shot, which is very dangerous. It could easily result in amputation. If your friend's arm feels or looks any different than it does after a normal shot, he has to go to the ER. Waiting for what could be a couple of hours on BL for the right answer is not the proper course of action. There is no need to worry about telling them the truth at the hospital. They are not concerned with the legal aspects of drug complications, just the medical.

Well it was a vein that is used occasionally so its not a artery and the arm looks absolutely fine. We are just trying to make sure this doesn't happen again even though he's high he said it was a shitty 20 seconds. But he feels fine after and as I said no change anywhere, hes just feeling good now...But I'm also worried its the cut that is making it do that I haven't tried it yet after he told me that I've been hesitant.

there's a chance he could have just slightly missed the shot (like the needle slipped out of the vein, or he wasn't entirely in the vein).

ive missed a small amount of a shot before, and it burned and stung for a short amount of time but went away. no one can really tell you for sure though. run some warm water on it if it starts to swell up, and get it checked out if necessary.

edit: misread that he said he felt weird in the head and fingers.

it could be something in the cut. kind of sounds like maybe some kind of extra cut that may have been added to your dope. if i were you i would just snort your dose.

any more details you could give on how the shot was prepped? like did it seem gunkier than normal or something?

i am going to send this to OD. i know questions about problems arising from shots gone wrong are common, and im not sure what they are going to do with this. but i'm interested to see.

hope your buddy is fine and you guys get it figured out.

Thank you I think he's ok but I'm scared to try this stuff until I find out why this happened!

in my experience, a slight miss results in local pain, not what he was describing. was the liquid really hot? as in, did he not allow the shot to cool off after cooking it? maybe it's just some god awful cut...

You know what you might be on to something with the cooling but we never boil our dope. We were taught that boiling it kills a lot of the diamorphine so we get it to the point right before like 30 seconds with the lighter. But it def could still be hot... I am not sure I ended up doing the other bag with no problem but he did do the whole bag and I did it in 2 so who knows. Oh well I guess well never know until I experiment with it again but what he was describing was kind of scary. Thank you everyone for there help once again.

Are you shooting tar? To me it just sounds like it could have been a powerful histamine reaction from higher than usual amounts of morphine or 6-mam. The histamine reaction from morphine can be very intense, and a lot of times not enjoyable in the least. A lot of time tar contains more morphine than usual which could attribute to a stronger histamine reaction than usual.

Hey OP,

What likely happened was that somewhere during the shot process the needle, or the solution if missed, put pressure on a nerve. This can result in tingling all along the path that the nerve traces. Kind of like hitting your funny bone (ulnar nerve).

Another option is a histamine reaction like BdP mentioned though there would likely be other signs as well such as itchiness, hives, redness, swelling, flushing of the face, sweating, and all the other symptoms of an allergic reaction.

Finally an artery shot can indeed also present with tingling in the extremities. The lack of swelling, pain, continued numbness and other signs of poor circulation in the finger tips means this is less likely but as it is also the most serious must be mentioned and considered.

i suspect either a slight miss on the shot, the cut, or the possibility that it was just from the rush of iv'ing the dope... when i've taken morphine in the hospital i get a very similar reaction to what you've described. as long as your friend is doing well now and it only lasted 20 seconds i would not worry too much. besides, if it were an arterial shot, bright red foamy blood would have been in the syringe when your friend drew back to make sure he was in and it would have probably bled quite a bit post-shot. hope this helps.

sometimes diacetylmorphine causes those "morphine" like tingles.. that is what you were experiencing. I guarantee it!

I have had similar feelings as the ones the OP described... Sometimes if I do a bigger shot than usual I get a pins and needle sensation over parts of my body only for like 10 seconds or so...

Maybe it has something to do with the cut in your dope or it could just be a histamine reaction like someone else mentioned. Just wondering but did he have any bumps/hives after the shot? It could also be just a reaction to a big shot which also happens to me

Good luck to your buddy though. I have a feeling that he will be fine seeing how you did the same dope he did but didn't get the same effects. Keep us posted and if something doesn't seem right don't hesitate to get it checked out...

OH MAN! I keep asking people why this happens to me and they are like WHAT ARE YOU TALKIN ABOUT!!!

Me and my ex would get the exact same painful feeling...it lasts 30 seconds at most, but it's excrutiating pain! It sometimes is just in my face, but other times it goes all through my body, particularly my back, fingers, and chest. It feels like being stabbed by a thousand razors along with the feeling of your arm being asleep. My face and body get extremely itchy, and bright red. Hives all over, but it all fades relatively quick. Some other commentor wrote: "Another option is a histamine reaction like BdP mentioned though there would likely be other signs as well such as itchiness, hives, redness, swelling, flushing of the face, sweating, and all the other symptoms of an allergic reaction."

The weird thing is, it only happens when I do a lot. Say i did over half a bundle, or like half a gram, thats when it comes to play on certain dope....but sometimes it doesn't happen (I was crossing my fingers a lot). I think its something in the cut, kinda like a niacin flush or something. Who knows, I am allergic to something in cold medicine, but that doesnt explain my gf. The dope is pure white right now, and was causing this a lot for me, luckily it made quitting easier and been doing good for a few weeks.

same exact thing happens to me a couple times a month! it's mostly just in the arm i shot in and the left side of my chest, but can travel up to my neck and face. it fucking hurts!

What you got was the pins n' needles effect from cut in the H. I forget the name of this cut that gives a rush like that, but I think it is nothing to worry about.

Arterial blood is BRIGHT red when it blooms in the syringe. Of course, if you are shooting black tar it can be hard to see in the syringe...but IMO you did not get an arterial shot. That is just an FYI.

Thanks man, had me worried. Really really painful, but luckily its only temporary...but really weird that only certain people seem to get it.
