Opioids Dried up old liquid hydrocodone?

Found an old bottle of liquid hydrocodone but seems to look Like it clumped and crystallized on the side of the bottle, is this possible or is it something else

Just toss it in garbage. If it is way past its expiration date than using that could be pretty bad for you.

Tussionex definitely does this, I have seen it more than once. I wouldn't try eating it, could be dangerous.

I'd say it depends on how expired it is. When medications like that have an expiration date, it's because the drug companies want to sell more drugs, not because all of the sudden right before the expiration date it's fine, and then immediately afterwards it's bad... it's not like food, it's a drug.

Yes, some drugs like naloxone will expire quicker, and degrade when not shielded from the light. This is true.

However, hydrocodone, will last much longer than naloxone. A lot longer.

I'd gauge based on when it "expired" if it's still good to use or not.

Very true; it depends on if it was shielded from light, and the preservatives in the solution.

However, oral syrups tend to have enough propylene glycol, benzyl alcohol, and ethanol in them to keep bacteria from growing for a long time. %)

I don't know if this applies to liquids you ingest, but I doctor told me that medications are good at least 5 years offer experation date.

I had pleurisy once and I was prescribed this liquid Tussin and I remember laying on the couch and it felt like I was floating. It was a nice warm feeling. I have never had the medication since.

I would never consider my hubbie a drug user. When he gets sick enough to go to the doc he would usually get tussin cough syrup. He would drink at least 1/2 a bottle in one night. It was so funny. He would say "whoo! I think I took too much!" lol!! I would look at the bottle and say "Yeah, I think you only need a few tea spoons " he would play Halo online all night or what ever game he was into. This was a few years ago.

I got Tussionex last week for a "sinus infection" (or so they thought it was, either way I had a pretty nasty cough). That stuff is awesome! It tastes delicious, way better than Cheratussin, and got me wayyyyyyyy higher, highest I've been since I stopped coppin' dope.

^no lie. SWIM has a bottle of liquid hydrocodone and is in love with it. When swim gets some of the little crystalized pieces off the rim of the bottle the high is so much better. Just be careful about it and you should be fine
