Television The Walking Dead

wait a second, vibby, didn't I lend you my copy of the Walking Dead trade-paperback to read, way back when??

i know you're the one that got me into it, but i'm not sure if i've ever actually held an issue. i think ive only read them on a computer. but basically yes, it was one of many conversations that came up at that airport party :D

also ive read that they're denying the rutina rumor.

also ive read that they're denying the rutina rumor.

well, if they confirm it, it basically tells everyone who gasped in shock and relief at the season finale of True Blood that Tara Thorton actually dies and the actor is no longer on the show. Since True Blood is going to confirm or deny that death soon enough, we'll find out.

yeah, they've been doing a good job hiding info about Michonne. in TWD, Michonne is one of the most bad-ass, most favorite, strong independent African-American ladies, who more than adjusts to the ensuing apocalypse. Rutina Wesley is gorgeous, but she was a bit of an annoying sap most of the time in her True Blood days as Tara, so I feel like this role for her will be a great one for the actress

re: End Times and climate. although I disagree with you on that climate factor. it's been established that zombies decompose at a slower rate than normal decomposing bodies (obviously), in most zombie fiction. I think that the warmer climates would be worse for me. zombies get SERIOUSLY immobile during the freezing temp/snow/cold. I know this would present a problem for surviving humans, but I would rather be cold and see most of the zombies frozen to the ground than be warm and see said zombies move around with ease... but that's just me. I'm sure PB's cabin in the boonies is a great choice, actually. gotta stay away from those heavily populated areas. actually, my go to plan is to head to my family's desolate log cabin, deep in the foothills of the Appalachia mountains in Southern Ohio. I've got a shitload of shotguns and rifles apt for protection + hunting

I was so glad when

Lori's car flipped. She's such an idiot. How would her driving to the town to find Rick & Glenn make anything move faster? Both of the men already knew the girl was basically in shock, near comatose. It's not like Rick & Glenn were going to tell Hershel "don't worry about it, finish your drink, take your time, no rush here!" Ugh. Also, how is the grunt work being spread out? It seems to me that Lori & Rick never do shit on the farm. Who gave them the go-ahead to mope around all the time? Your son is fine get your ass to work.

Overall, I really liked the episode. They've finally picked it up a bit.

hey now amorroark, give lori some credit. there's a reason you never see Walking Dead carrots posting in The Dark Side; they don't cut themselves!

seriously though you'd think they would use the buddy system to avoid another Sophia situation.

To me, Lori is everything that is wrong with the show. She's just so stupid and overly-emotional that I find myself hoping she dies each episode.

+1 to not knowing why Lori had to go into town in the first place. I'd forgotten about that.

My prediction, next episode starts with a wounded Lori fading back into consciousness and realizing that she can't get herself out of the situation just as the walker that she hit comes back for her and there is a suspenseful struggle until Rick and crew pull up and save the day. Then they go back to the farm and do some medical work on the girl. Lori has injuries that require her to be bedridden and and thus even more time is spent on the farm talking about being on the farm and talking about leaving the farm. Oh and at some point in the episode Shane will do something that is borderline sociopathic and someone else will notice and become unnerved...wait, what episode are we talking about again?

Lori dies in such an epic way in the books, I can only hope that they off that cheating bitch in such a manner (if they do) in the show...

apparently I've got a run-down of spoilers for the rest of the episodes, finishing up this season. or at least the major events. I won't mention them, but thankfully some people start dying

re: Rick not doing work. I could see Rick thinking he is above that type of work, considering he vies to be head honcho, even when he tells himself that he doesn't want to lead anymore (which will no doubt be shown in the future). I can see him pardoning Lori, also. but I've learned a rule in the narration of fiction - just because "they" don't show it, don't mean it ain't happening. case in point - TWD show has never shown any characters using the bathroom, yet does that mean that none of them have used the bathroom since the zombie apocalypse?

To be fair I think I am only hard toward this show like a parent whose underachieving child continually fails to live up to its massive potential. It's a tough loving kind of loving.

I've given up on this show. The first season was unbelievably good. Season 2? Bullshit. It's full of drama, and weak character development. I watch the show for the zombies, and clearly it's not being written for that. I wish it had 500% more action, cause frankly I get fed up when it's all silly bullshit like drama. I really gave season 2 a chance, but it's over for me. What a waste of a good series.

this episode has started off guns-a-blazing! I didn't expect Rick to be so weary of other survivors this early in the show

a lot of people bitch about TWD - but let me give props to horror maestro Greg Nicotero! his gore and zombies both seasons have been a Perfect 10!

did anybody else really dig that zombie that was trying to snack on Lori when she was trapped in the car? I totally geeked out when the glass was slicing through his undead face!!

are you worried about spoilers? I don't think I spoiled anything... this show has lots of zombies that attack the living. also, the "Car Zombie" getting around to Lori was implied in the last episode that you saw

again, Greg Nicotero is the man!

For me, the make-up and zombie effects are the only saving graces this show has. Tonight's episode was one of the better this season, admittedly, but still very soap opera-y.

are you worried about spoilers? I don't think I spoiled anything...

I spoil easily, like unimportable produce.

Anyway, I liked this episode, but from the preview the next one looks like it will be even better.

My requests are simple ones. I just want new locations. Are new locations too much to ask for?
