Please help! Question about Concerta and Accutane!

Is it safe to take Concerta while on Accutane? I haven't suffered any of the mood swings or depression from Accutane yet, but I've only been on it for a week and a half.

I've never taken Concerta, but one of my friends has some that he has been taking (he doesn't actually have ADHD) and he says they clear your mind
and help you focus. Tomorrow is an important day at school for me, and so I bought a pill. Now I am a bit worried about taking it.

I'm more worried about my liver though to be honest, considering I've been smoking marijuana and have done LSD while on it so far.

But I was fine during those experiences and after.

I hope this is the right place to post this!

Please refrain from making repeat threads in different sub-forums.

There are no contra-indications that I can see mixing these two substances.

Let me just say Accutane is an extremely toxic drug. It's consequences on your health can be severe. Seriously, find another acne med/facial application cocktail and save your insides.

Unless you have had severe acne and suffered the mental consequences of it then you don't really know what you're saying.
Yes, what you said is correct but an extremely small portion of accutane users suffer those consequences. Accutane is a last resort, obviously cjr66 would have tried other solutions.

I am on accutane at the moment and have been using vyvanse for school work the past week, I think you should be safe liver wise. Although mentally the comedown could be bad. I'd just suggest not over doing it with concerta/stimulants. (from experience...)

I doubt Accutane is the only drug that could improve any given condition of acne resistent to prior drug therapies. Accutane is overly rx'd by dermatologists, and IMO it should be taken off the market. It is far too toxic and damaging, and there are a myriad of other acne therapies that could prove just as effective if not more effective than Accutane, even if the OP or you, have not tried them.

Do you / have you had severe persistant acne?
Accutane has been prescribed for over 5 million people around the world. Tell the millions that this drug has literally saved, that it should not be on the market.The lawsuits are almost all in the USA. Because in the US isotretinoin is prescribed at extremely large doses and long term. Out of 5 million users came 5,000 lawsuits from people who took large doses for extended periods of time.
 
My acne is not that severe, but it is persistent. I'm only on 40 mg and am scheduled to be on it for 4 months. I did the Concerta and am fine. Or at least I felt/feel fine. NMy first blood test in March will let me know if I'm really fine or not.

No, I do not have severe acne, however, this has no bearing on whether or not is should be rx'd. In my opinion, it should not be. And I don't know how this drug has "saved millions", it isn't chemotherapy or a life-saving psych drug. It can be very good at its intended purpose, but at what cost? Too high a cost IMO. It is one of the foulest, most toxic drugs on the market with a plethora of systemic side-effects.
 
The doctors gave me numerous amounts info before and after I was prescribed the drug. It has been associated with mental health issues and the only physical health issues it causes are typically only found in women when relating to pregnancy. I just read a very detailed booklet about it that came with the drug. I think the 5,000 cases are just extreme cases or people just trying to make a quick buck.
