Heroin Smoking heroin in a lightbulb vape?

Since I'm inexperienced when it comes to chasing the dragon, I'm afraid of wasting the product. I was thinking a lightbulb could be more efficient since the vapors will be trapped inside and I won't lose as much that way...

Does it work in your experience?

I'm looking for confirmation, since I also heard some people say it doesn't quite work. It's always better to have several opinions.

By the way freebase heroin can be approximated as opium (i.e. freebase morphine) very well. You could always line your lightbulb with tinfoil if you wanted to 8o
 
No need to be rude...

IME, lightbulbs don't work well. You want something that heats and cools quickly. Light bulbs and glass stems seem to retain heat too long and sometimes burn the material. The only thing I can tell you is practice makes perfect. If you're having trouble, use tiny amounts to get a hang of the process. Keep the tube pretty close to the foil, but not so close that it gets warm.
 
That doesn't solve the problem of heat retention broseph those lightbulbs stay warm for like five minutes. Plus, how are you gonna get the foil inside the lightbulb without turning your fingers into minced meat?:\ lol
 
Someone in this thread has never smoked out of a light bulb (hint: it isn't the OP ;).

I'll agree with atx1, its a bad idea. I used to smoke weed out of one of these things and it always resulted in a burned mess. With time you can usually prevent getting the glass too hot, but I wouldn't want to do that with H. You'll waste so much...

Also I never considered them to be "safe" even when I personally built one and made sure to wash it out really well. It just seems...unhealthy to smoke out of. Given the choice between it and tin foil, I'd choose foil. Another thing to consider is changing the ROA, have you thought about snorting it?

If you still want to smoke it and fear losing the vapors: Cut the bottom off a soda bottle (whatever size you'd like, smaller is probably best) and use that to help catch the vapor. I'd just use a straw or something though, as you're bound to lose a bit anyway with this ROA and it'd be awkward trying to hold the bottle in your mouth while using the other two hands to hold/heat up the substance.

UPDATE: So I tried it and like some of you predicted it didn't work (I did it before I had the chance to read most of your posts, unfortunately)

I burned the heroin almost instantaneously and couldn't even catch a buzz.
In the end, I snorted 20mg of the stuff and it was GOOOOD<3... Last night wasn't a total loss...
