Dude

Last time I tripped I had the thought come to my mind that maybe consciousness itself is fractal in nature. I watched this video on fractals and it said that in digital mapping they made a breakthrough when they used fractals and discovered that fractals allowed them to fit a lot more information into a smaller space than they ever could before. That was what I reasoned with when I though about why other mammalian creatures are capable of basic thoughts but not the expansive abstract decision making processes that we humans have.

Obviously there is no real scientific basis for this theory it's just something that I thought about while tripping.

^indeed. have you ever seen that movie Pi? that's kinda the premise behind the story.

great movie, and i agree. i dont think theres any other explanations for some of the besutiful fractals and geomatric patterns that ive seen for decades, but am not skilled enough to ever replicate by drawing it out. it's almost like those shapes, colors, etc. are hardwired into our brains as part of inherent knowledge embedded in wherever instincts and all that great jazz stems from.

Yah, and when they work in consciousness and affect stuff.. Oh jeeze. Synchronicity, micro/macro, the Trinity..

Also, sorry about the kinda nonsense thread ha, I was soooo highhhh.... Ahaha.

do you mean Pi is that the one with the drill at the end ?? i've seen that one, but don't remember it so well at the moment

PS posted the wrong video ! meant this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkGeOWYOFoA excuse the design it is a bit tacky/glossy

i hadn't written a PS in so long :(

Yeah if you know of a way how to date a Julia Set let me know ;)

yeah the one w the drill at the end. oof, that scene is gnarly. great movie tho. all about this dude's theories about math occuring everywhere in nature.

Again, a prime reason why bluelight needs a "like" button.

Converging toward the topic in question though, DOC is unparalleled for exploring this kind of stuff. Man the depths you can take concepts to on that stuff... wow!
