Just wondering how many Bluelighters play guitar. I suppose this could be a haven to gloat about your instrument, get tips, advice, practice methods, knowledge and information about all things guitars. I know there are few things in life, for me, that compare to learning the intro and bridge "Harvester of Sorrow" by Metallica or "Sludge Factory" by Alice in Chains, etc., etc., and you're all druggies so you must be able to shred some.
I've played electric for quite some time until my epiphone broke two years ago. I recently started to get back into playing guitar by purchasing an Washburn Lyon for $79.99 which came with a gig bag, electronic tuner, extra strings, etc.

This guitar is okay but the 6th and 5th strings tend to rattle, so naturally I thought I was tuning the instrument to low but it still occurs, albeit slightly, but still annoying and the copper coating on the strings are tearing up my finger tips.
I'm looking to buy an acoustic-electric, probably an Ibanez, preferably with nickle strings for under $199. If any one knows any good deals on acoustic-electrics from retailers, let me in on it.

Not sure where this goes or if it's been made already, so mod's please move as wish.
Good! I recognize that backing track too, something like "prog rock in Gm?"I love playing all styles

Currently getting back into playing the guitar after being revered as a God by my friend. I haven't even played in 2 years >_>
I've got a white Ibanez GAX30 and I named it Jimmy (After Mr. Page)
Any opinions on Paul Gilbert?
MFR, the desire to play too many notes is an epidemic among young musicians of all types. It takes the ability to tell certain phrases and notes to go away if they don't fit in with the rest of the music in order to progress as a musician. If you can't get excited by simplicity, even just a one-note solo, then I feel sorry for you. Music is an emotional thing, and if notes are forced through the music and they have no relevance to anything then they are impostors, they have no business being called music but it does anyway because what else are you gonna call it? Michelangelo doesn't aim to simply have the largest lump of marble, but he shaves away everything that's unnecessary.
Actually, I think it is the Em backing track from this thing:I love playing all styles

Actually, I found this comment to be hilarious after listening to some more of your shit like this:

You apparently are all about trying to shred and play fast. You're problem is that this sounds like a monkey throwing shit at the wall - it's not music, so what else can you call it? LOL! Your soloing is certainly not the simple, melodic, and moving soloing you claim to admire. I'm now ready for my next music lesson Coffee!

What do you know... I've never looked in here.
Been playing for about 12 years now.
Heres a nice little recording I did (played guitars and drums).
This is the last thing I put together in a recording studio. Recorded, mixed and mastered myself.
It's a re-hash of the red-hot chilli peppers song "I could have lied" I thought i'd see how it went with a female vocal.
Oh I got bored and improv'd a lil' solo at the end also.
Tell me what you think.
i dig itsounds good with the female vocals. the solo on the end fits in well harmonically

I respect its craziness, but it's really not that good IMO lol. One of the best covers you say?
