I don't like kipping on someones couch that much, it's akward being in their house I find, they tend to live far out the centre, you never feel like you have your own space and it's not expensive here for accomodation, 4 quid a night for my current place so I don't bother. I do however meet people off CS for activities, drinking, get them to show me around etc. Have met a couple so far and have plans to meet more. I'm also using other social networking sites this time, and meeting people through them. Has worked a treat. I just posted a little more on it in the Friday thread if you care to read more about it.

So all those hours spent working in an office for ashit wage must be well behind you know Spade ?

Good on you Spade many other folk could to worse than follow your example n actually get up n go somewhere rather than just keep doing jobs they hate .

Forgotten all about it mate. Fuck call centres. Need to work out a long term plan though, I obviously can't manage to work 6-8 months then travel for 6 foreveer. Figuring out how I make money when travelling or online freelance seems to be the key, it's just making it all work and getting the good ideas. I have plans. I just need the motivation to actually get those plans into action.

Yeah that isn't really feasible long term but the more experience of travelling you have the more likely something will come up or you will work out away of being able to do it longterm.

Yeah CS is good just for meeting folk as well i think it ius a invaluable resouce when on the road.

What are the other social networks you been using or have you put that in the friday thread ?
PM me them if you don't wanna put it up here.

Just got a letter through the post this morning informing me that I have been accepted by a casino to be a trainee croupier, only kick in the balls is they want £180 for the gaming license that gets deducted out of your wage! :!
Finally won't need to sign on any longer :)
A bit worried though, I said my CRB would come up clean but then remembered I got stopped in a train station with some mushrooms (about one big trips worth) last autumn. I did ask the copper at the time if it was going on my record and he said no but he did write me a slip of paper with what he had said written down on it. No convictions and no letters through the post, what do you think? Talk to the manager about it before I start the job or just leave it?

sounds like a caution/warning?

my friend has managed to pass NHS crb checks with a caution for lots of stuff, so I would have thought you would be fine. difficult one that :/

Cheers, think I'm going to leave it. Feel fucking happy today, got accepted into University again as a mature student and no longer have to claim jobseekers and try and survive on £40/pw!

Definately leave it mate, say nothing. I got accepted for a previous job after completely lying about my convictions and it all panned out ok. If it's just cautions I don't even think it shows up tbh.

What you doing in uni? I really wish I'd gone back to college this year and continued the sociology/psychology/politics HNC's. Was working so many hours at the time though I fucked off college cos I was raking in the doe, 65+hours a week as a waiter/barman, then got sacked there. I really would have been far better staying on at college in retrospect.

I can't recall her name at the moment but has anyone heard from the bigmans wife at all?
I can't remember if she was also waiting to go to court as well so wandered if she had also been sent down.
I hope not for her and their childrens sake.

Going back to do Physics with applied Mathematics. Was too much of a hedonist the first time I went to uni and so dropped out before I had a chance to get in any serious problems, all I can think about now is going back and being a complete bookworm :)

Yeah it can be tough deciding what to do if you're in a really well paid job, especially with the knowledge that going back to be a student means living of fook all and coming out with a lot of debt. If it's your passion then I guess that's another thing though.

meh. long drive/return journey to escort peeps to routine hospital appointments [7am starts. lawdy. what's that all about?]
more bath, book reading & beer.

in a few hours: 70th birthday 'tea' and eating at a McPub/restaurant. it's got the potential for disaster. family members usually best avoided all congregating with alcohol ... with a splash of bitter[ness] and shoulder chips. it's got all the ingredients of a Von Trier-style sequel to Festen

can't.wait.

Good luck with that! Your day makes my eight-hour stint at a filthy desk seem like a breeze, I must say.

So true man, I was raking in over a grand easily after tax even with those hours. College just seemed like the place to meet girls and fo social banter. really though I should of stuck at it as I'd be more occupied than I am now and things would have probably worked out better.

Student life does mean no money, but the banter is epic and the people you meet make it all worthwhile. Fair fucking play to you with doing Physics and Maths, I never understood either of those very well, written and social type subjects were always more my thing.

First off nice one croupier is a fantastic job a freind of mine did it on a cruise ship .

Your description of the events with the Mushrooms sounds like nothing to worry about .
If it was official you would have been arrested at the very least even just so they could caution you so imo no you dn't have a crminal record so no need for anything to be declared.

Go for it as i said it's areally good job and can take you all over the world

RS mate , what do you actually do for a living / money these days ?
I remember you saying about a possible job in Manchester but i don't know what happened .
Have you got a job ?

You don't have to answer i'm just curious as you always seem to get by and go drinking n partying n that ain't free well not these days so much although their has been a resurgence in proper free parties which is fukin ace :)

It's my mums bday today mate so I aint paying for the champagne obviously my old man is :D I still do a few PR shifts, about £60's worth a week which is cash in hand plus I'm on job seekers. Most of my partying is thanks to a rather large overdraft limit I've been allowed since I worked loads of hours as a waiter/barman last year and had a good credit balance. That said I'm ment to be getting a job at phones4u if all goes well, retail is a bit shit, but jobs a job at the moment.

I'll def be going back to do sociology/psychology/politics in summer though. Really want to do something with my life rather than drifting between employment for 6 months then unemployed for 3, which is basically how my last 2-3 years have been. It's just the hedonistic lifestyle fucks me up, pretty much as eclipsedesign said earlier I'm same boat tbh. Got a brain it's just too concentated on other stuff haha.

Pretty stuffed after a slap up meal, few more drinks might pop another few of these yellow stars and look foward to a bedtime K hole with the last of the ketamax...plan %)

Wish there were more free parties round here. Summer time there's loads but winter it's more just house seshes which are cool but the local club venues are piss poor compared to your part of the world which seems to be epicentre of the universe for clubs, drugs etc
