Amphetamine + Ritalin/Methylphenide good idea?

Is mixing Amphetamine and Methylphenidate/Ritalin okay?

I take Adderall daily but I would occasionally snort Ritalin lines for extra effect.

Personally, I can take the two individually without issue. If I take them within the same 24 hour period, its miserable.

Recipe for disaster:
Wake up, take adderall (30MG XR)
6 Hours later, take Ritalin (30MG XR)
Later that night = total hell. Worse then my worst coke comedown. Something about the combo makes you feel ridiculously anxious and depressed on the combo. (Me personally), the two individually come nothing near the negative sides the two together have.

I wouldn't recommend mixing them. They're both stimulants but have different mechanisms of action...

In addition, there is the general risk of stimulant + stimulant overdose.

Thanks.

I guess doing coke while on Amphetamine isn't good either... not that I've tried yet. I've done coke while on Ritalin... not too weird.

It might be because I'm so used to comedowns of coke that none of my sript med comedowns felt all that bad, either combined or by themselves.

For the average user, yes mixing stimulants is bad.
Buuuut, this study may be of interest:
Methylphenidate Alters Vesicular Monoamine Transport and Prevents Methamphetamine-Induced Dopaminergic Deficits

"Results reveal that methylphenidate post-treatment both prevents the persistent dopamine deficits and reverses the acute decreases in vesicular dopamine uptake and VMAT-2 ligand binding caused by methamphetamine treatment. In addition, methylphenidate post-treatment reverses the acute decreases in vesicular dopamine content caused by methamphetamine treatment. Taken together, these findings suggest that methylphenidate prevents persistent methamphetamine-induced dopamine deficits by redistributing vesicles and the associated VMAT-2 protein and presumably affecting dopamine sequestration."

Its an interesting study. Ritalin has also been proven to reduce just about any amphetamine (adderall too) nuerotoxicity. (mdma too?).

Regardless, stimulant + stimulant is always fun for a little, then 10x the opposite. Not to mention theres TONS of risks. Even from a junkies point of view, it has never been worth it IMO.

Ritalin and cocaine have similar methods of action (they're both reuptake inhibitors), so the warning still applies when mixing methylphenidate (Ritalin) and cocaine.

I find it hard to believe any study that claims there is a way to avoid methamphetamine neurotoxicity.

There are too many studies that prove that methamphetamine is a neurotoxin no matter how you "twist it".

Advanced Drug Discussion is almost like a "Meth is bad" discussion most of the time.

MDMA and meth have very different modes of action.

Stimulant on stimulant combinations are a good way to become over stimulated,
have a panic attack and
convince everyone you're going into cardiac arrest.

or actually go into cardiac arrest and pass out.

Releasing agent BEFORE a reuptake inhibitor basically gives you a short period of synergy during the DRI onset, but then the DRI just takes over and your amphetamine is wasted

UGH
These drugs do NOT have a synergistic effect

Methylphenidate is a DA/NE reuptake inhibitor
Amphetamine is a DA/NE/5-HT releasing agent

Everyone thinks that means they stack, synergize, or potentiate each other
but in reality, with basic pharmacology knowledge, you'd know REUPTAKE INHIBITORS STOP THE RELEASING AGENT PROPERTIES OF RELEASING AGENTS

So, you would be wasting amphetamine. Though, is possible high doses of amphetamine compared to the dose of methylphenidate may overpower methylphenidate, but either way you're just wasting one drug or the other

Thank you.

So if I want to do ritalin lines (or coke) instead of taking my daily Adderall dose, how long should I wait, for Amphetamine to flush out of system?

If the Adderall is IR (instant release), wait at least 4-6 hours after you took the amphetamine.

If the Adderall is XR/SR/ER (extended release/sustained release), wait at least 10-14 hours after you took the amphetamine.
