Mr Grim i'm still waiting for your critique of At The Drive In .

I'ma gonnna start thinking your ignoring me soon , God forbid;)

In other News i bought some nice socks i gotta have special socks ya see cos of my bad leg n circulation.

I got some lovely ones that fitted the bill @ 3 pairs for a Lady. bargain.

Ignore you? Chance would be a fine thing! ;)

I don't listen to much guitar music made after the early '90s, but as these kind of things go, At The Drive In aren't that bad. They're influenced by a lot of older stuff I listen to as well, so I don't dislike them at all. I just live in a world where Kurt Cobain's still alive and people make C90 mix tapes for their mates.

Socks, drugs and rock 'n' roll, Brimz?

Have you seen the documentary on him by Nick Broomfield? Fuck me Courtney Love is a psychopathic bitch. She basically created Cobain. She even had a previous failed attempt that was almost successful, but the lead singer wasn't as malleable as poor old Kurt.

Very good !

The reason i champion this band is that i think they are the only post early Foo Fighters Guitar band that were actually really good and had a style of their own , obviously they are gonna be influenced as is standard in all types of music.

I will be very intrested to hear their new stuff.

Gotta love Nick Boom mic .

He goes to places where others fear to tread with only the Mic for protection :)

This is weird... I have been listening to at the drive in loads without even knowing who they are?! One Armed Schissor was basically the sound track to my holiday when I was 17.

Cheers Brimz :)

Courtney's definitely not all there mentally, even though the documentary's a bit biased against her. I definitely think she took far more out of Kurt than he did from her. The murder rumours are just silly though.

I don't believe she murdered him either. She had so much power over him, and he was so vulnerable, that she was (and probably did) capable of making him top himself whenever he felt like it. Courtney's general behaviour and life screams psychopathy through and through, even without knowing her you can check off dozens of the Hare checklist criterion.

On a slightly related point (because it's music related), what the fuck has the music business done to eminem? Holy shit this stuff sucks. Who do the youth turn to these days when they want to be lead astray, if even Eminem is doing songs that are totally devoid of rap? I long for the days when bands and artists appeared with their own style, instead of there being a stable of musicians who all look slightly different doing the type of music that is in vogue with 9 year old girls. Everyone's gone fucking Madonna on us.

New thread!
Here's the link to the old one :)

The only At The Drive-In track I remember liking in the past is...... **tries to remember the title, fails, and goes to look it up**
Ah, here we are - One Armed Scissor

Was never a massive fan (the slightly Emo-esque vocals grate on me like velcro!), but enjoyed their detuned and fairly origionalish take on the sound :)

p.s.

I've finished the tracks I've been letting my brain beat me up over for months!!!! :D
Wheyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!
<3~^.^~<3

... Ahem... Sowee =D Just bloody relieved and really loving how they're sounding :)
I'm fuckin ace me :p Hehe ;)

Hope everyone's having a lush and relaxed evening :)

Congratulations! I'd been wondering where the sudden near-mania had come from, and I'm relieved it's from reaching the top of the music mountain.

Indulging tonight, sir? ;)

Thankyou good sir :)
Yea I'm so bloody relieved to get them done and out of the way and out of my worrying brain!

And I shall indeed be indulging, I deserve it do you not think? ;) Hehe.

I've read alot of stuff about Kurt Cobain, I love Nirvana and we share the same birthday strangely. Him killing himself was not down to Courtney Love, I don't particularly like her but he'd shot heroin before they ever met. It was his addiction and personal demons that haunted him since childhood that were the reason he chose to end his own life. In his last days he had lied to everyone he knew and completely alienated himself from his friends and family. As much as I love the guy he was full of self pity and always viewed (and made out) that his situation was worse than it really was.

Do I detect drugs Monsta? I'm absolutely stuffed, met a couple of people in town earlier so had two huge lunches in pubs, couple of pints then a massive dinner tonight. Can't wait for Fake Blood this weekend!

In-freakin'-deed you do. And enjoy!

Rockstar, I agree that Kurt would've ended up offing himself anyway if he'd never met Courtney but it's a complex business and Ms. Love was definitely not the best influence, though she does get much more abuse than she deserves. To a frightening extent in fact.

Let's not bring Kurt, Courtney and the whole sorry shebang into gibberings just now, eh? The fucking nineties killled me. ;)

Not enough serial killers?

I seem to have reignited my passion for the booze. Just debating what to have, it's pesky because as soon as I have a few I don't sleep well and wake up by 6-7am latest. Can't beat a few beers, some tunes and a pizza though %)

Quite a few of my mates are right into them. Anything I've heard I've liked but never deliberately listened to them. Is that the band that are half of The Mars Volta? Or is it the other way around? Or am I a mile out? Lol

You watch too much MTV or listen to too much radio. The real shit is still there, it's just hiding. Listen to Eminem on other people's shit, he still kills it. The tracks he's done with Slaughterhouse are decent. The album with Royce was not bad, didn't live up to expectations though. The latest BET Cypher is a beast, mainly due to Budden though - contender for best rapper alive? (bar Nas of course ;))

"I'd a took the wine out of Amy's house" %)

Edit - Just listened to that again. Em goes IN!!! "I'd be a horrible magician, coz I'd fuck a trick up!" Ooooft

You're ^

Why are you criticising my grammar Rockstar?

Also I think your words are rather insensitive to people with mental health problems.

Oh please come back and teach me how to become more popular, use proper grammar and look like a normal, sane person just like you!

'och we all think youre insane and have bad grammar' Is that really the best you can do? You slimy, little, toad of a man?

Go on and delete your post because yeah you did make yourself look like a spiteful, little, wanker.

Ed.. Also, what the bloody hell have my posts got to do with Gary Glitter?
