Hey, not sure if this is the right forum to post this is so im sorry if it isnt.

For about the last two months i see alot of a specific colour purple that i always see on lsd but now im always seeing it when im sober espically in the dark i just get distracted by it all and could just lay there quite content, in the light it tends to do it aswell but its very feint and not no where near as noticeable as when it darks and to be honest its starting to worry that this might be a permanent thing as id rather it wasnt to be honest, ive recently decided to quit all drugs at the moment due to major health issues and even when im better i am not going to be using lsd and mdma anymore due to alot of abuse over the last two (normally get drug induced psychosis on lsd now) and a half years, if anyone can give me any insight id appreciate it.

BDD

But this happens to me for about a week or two after psychedelic drug use

You my friend have HPPD.

According to the American Psychiatric Association's DSM-IV-TR (2000), the "essential feature" of Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder (HPPD) is "...the transient recurrence of disturbances in perception that are reminiscent of those experienced during one or more earlier Hallucinogen Intoxications."

Steer clear from psychedelics for the time being. I had these symptoms for aproximately 13 months a few years back.

Yeh thats the only conclusion i could come up with doesnt seem like it could be anything else but thought id get some others input on this thanks. Probably going to take a while probably minimum two years from what ive looked into espically from doing over 120+ trips in two and half years.

It is HPPD but with my experience with HPPD it did not last forever, only about a year. For me, shadows at night persisted to move and warp mainly in my bedroom at night when laying in my bed. Also, if I stared at patterned materials like carpet they would move and shift. Both of these instances have now gone away. Mind you, I have not done psychedelics for two years and these effects were gone after a year of no psychedelic use. The psychedelic in question that was experimented with was LSD.

Sounds very spot on to some of the other effects ive noticed so its defently that thanks for clearing it up even more from personal exp sykonaut.

Purple, huh? What's not to like? ;) That frequency has just acquired a liking to you and is blessing you with random apparitions... just say "thank you purple" and try not to obsess over it.

Haha its just with coming up to starting driving tests again and then getting a car i dont want to be distracted when im driving it could be very dangerous! ive seen enough on trips to serve me a life time even on high doses of any trips i get very bored now! life is changing =)

The floor is purple, i see purple streams come from moving objects, i see clear strips go through the air and so fourth! its distracting because its cool so im like ooo look at that and go off staring at it lol.

Hey man those colors have always been there :)

When you think of this as a problem it will only perpetuate itself.

sykonaut - what kind of lsd did you take ? im wondering if people get these bad side effects from using liquid or if they were reptuable blotters :) thanks

Well if they are so bright and severe that they involuntarily cause you to look and check it out on impulse then yea that could be difficult and possibly dangerous like while driving or other tasks requiring close continuous attention. Sounds pretty unusual to me. But if they're easy to ignore, only really noticed when you look for them, sometimes the act of "looking for" can be a seed for some phenomena... so try to practice ignoring them. I know, easier said than done... as in "don't think of an elephant", etc. haha.

Brilliant, I really like that perspective on it.
