I have little to no tolerance to the drug(I never taken it before) but i read for a person who weighs under 150 pounds should feel euphoric affects like 7.5 mgs. Would I feel anything, if so what's it like?

Yes you'll feel something.

Warmth and a bit of euphoria. Enjoy it while you can (ie - the ability to dose low and get an effect). Tolerance builds quick w/ opiates.

So I'll definitely feel something? That's awesome, how long does it take to peak?

It wouldn't say its 100% but I have friends who are about 200lbs. When they first took it they felt something off 7.5.

Onset is around 30 mins. Peaking around 1 hour. lasting around 5 hours.

I've tapered my dose down, and now will feel 7.5-15mg of oxycodone, either insufflated or taken orally (I get non-APAP containing pills). I'm ~160lbs.

Scramdor is right regarding time frames. Orally ingested hydro/oxy-codone will take ~30 minutes to become noticeable, and has a half-life of ~3 hours.

If I recall correctly I'd suggested you take 15 mg. That really is the ideal starting dose for an opiate-naive individual. BUT, with 7.5 mg you will feel something, and it will be good. Opiates are subtle, but don't worry that they aren't working, they are. Let the opiate roll over you, and envelope you. Just do what you feel and enjoy yourself. My first oipiate experience was 5 mg oxycodone, which is about equal to 7.5 mg hydrocodone, but I upped my oxy dose to 10 mg, and the first time I did I hydro I did 15 mg, hit me strong, but nice. I did another 15 mg the next day, and it was still very pleasurable, but not as intense. Maybe it is good you took only 7.5 mg, but if you want to do it again, try not to be like me and do it the next day. Wait a few days, at least. If 7.5 mg is pleasant, but you want more of an opiate experience try 15 mg next time. I wouldn't redose with another pill, because that will feel weaker than 15 mg all at once. Just enjoy your experience, and guage your opiate response. But 7.5 mg should get you feeling really good, a def. mood lift, relaxed, maybe stimulated.

There's no harm in re-dosing within a certain window (I'd say 30 minutes of activity) for a good compounding of effects, and a slightly more drawn out duration.

However, dosing back to back days is what will lead to eventual complications (tolerance, dependence, addiction). I never found much from 5mg when I was a beginner, but ~10mg and up would do the trick (until I started seeing how far I could go for what I wanted to achieve - then it was game over).

I'm definitely really relaxed and in a good mood, maybe next weekend ill try 15 mgs. Thanks!

Some drugs are okay re-dosers IMO, and some I try to avoid re-dosing too much. Like, I would never re-dose codeine, because the conversion of morphine of the codeine in the second dose is less than in the first. With DXM I re-dose if I want a higher DXM to DXO ratio or take it in a single dose if I want a higher DXO to DXM ratio. One drug I have found splendid to re-dose with is tramadol because with subsequent doses are better metabolized into o-desmethyltramadol, which I metabolize pretty well if I do say so myself. But yeah, I was just saying with a drug like hydrocodone re-dosing doesn't really effect metabolism (to my knowledge) so much as effect. I wanted to let him know that 7.5 mg and then another 7.5 mg like 30 min + later is not the same as 15 mg in one dose, which is stronger IMO.

Actually the -codones work in the same fashion as codeine in that they also metabolize to morphine in the liver. However it's my understanding that they ALSO are active pre-metabolis (sp?), so both are present.

It's alright ill just take a higher dose next time as for now ill just enjoy this 7.5mg dose, Maybe I haven't hit the peak yet so I think there's still something to look foward to.

What time are you at now? As in T=0:00 is time of dose, now would be T+0:30 would be 30 minutes in. Peak effects will be there at T+1:00 for sure.

Not all of the -codones, like oxycodone or hydrocodone do NOT metabolize into morphine.

"Analgesic effect by hydrocodone is highly dependent on metabolism to O-demethylated morphine, hydromorphone, by the cytochrome 450 CYP2D6."

- from the Wikipedia article on Hydrocodone.

"Oxycodone is metabolized to α and β oxycodol; oxymorphone, then α and β oxymorphol and noroxymorphone; and noroxycodone, then α and β noroxycodol and noroxymorphone (N-desmethyloxycodone)."

"Unlike morphine and hydromorphone, oxycodone is metabolized by the cytochrome P450 enzyme system in the liver, making it vulnerable to drug interactions."

- from the Wikipedia article on Oxycodone.

Appears I'm wrong about oxycodone, but hydro- does metabolize to morphine in the liver. There is also a difference in which enzyme does the activity. I understand Wiki isn't the best resource, but it's quicker to search through than to locate a proper medical journal entry.

It's been roughly 1.30-2 hours and Im just slightly relaxed... in a good mood aswell. No euphoria is noticable lol, guess I need to try 15 mg's next time?

If you feel that's the case - try it. I can't tell ya how you're feeling through a computer screen. ;)

That said, 15mg is highly unlikely to cause any negative physical problems, and you'll be fine. Just don't keep upping the dose looking for the "next thrill" - you may just find opiates aren't for you! I have plenty of friends who just vomit on any dose that would produce euphoria.

I am surprised that hydrocodone is metabolized into morphine in part, I knew about the hydromorphone. I knew oxycodone did not metabolize into morphine, but I also thought I knew hydrocodone did not, guess I was wrong, I am still unsure about it. But, they both produce opiate effects on their own, and aren't completely reliant on their metabolites.

My first experience with opiates was very enjoyable, but only did I realize the full extent of the pleasure until the next day. 15 mg still sounds like it will be a good dose for you next time.
