"Darkness cannot be dissipated with more darkness.
A Christmas Eve incident involving LSD use by inmates at the state prison in Faribault turned chaotic when six prisoners suffered violent drug reactions that sent two to the hospital by ambulance and four to the Twin Cities by medical helicopter.

The six inmates had attended a Narcotics Anonymous meeting that morning and passed the synthetic drug among themselves, according to corrections reports and interviews with authorities.

Attempted drug smuggling is a near-daily event at Minnesota prisons, but authorities said the December incident was unusual for the violent reactions the drug touched off and the volatile 10-hour sequence of events that followed.

High-ranking corrections officials would not characterize the significance of the incident, but they acknowledged that prison guards were exposed to a sequence of medical emergencies and physical confrontations with violent, hallucinating prisoners.

"Our first mission in running a prison is protecting the safety of the staff and the inmates," Assistant Commissioner David Crist said in an interview. "Smuggling drugs into prisons has been going on forever, and we are constantly conducting exercises to stay on top of it.''

The state Department of Corrections is investigating how the drug was smuggled past guards and how widely it might have been distributed. A former inmate is suspected of smuggling the LSD, contained on small pieces of absorbent paper, into the prison, authorities said. No arrests have been made.

About 12:33 p.m. on Dec. 24, guards found an inmate in his room, lying on the floor and unresponsive. The man was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Faribault, and doctors there ordered that he be airlifted to Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

At 3:10 p.m., a second prisoner was so out of control in his room that he was sprayed with a chemical irritant and then restrained. He, too, was taken to the hospital and then airlifted to Abbott Northwestern. Five minutes later, guards found another prisoner acting in a similar manner, and he also was airlifted to Minneapolis.

Just past 7 p.m., a prisoner notified guards of blood on the floor of his room and on his roommate's bed sheets. The man's wounds, apparently self-inflicted, were severe enough that guards applied pressure to stop the bleeding. He was eventually flown to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Three minutes later, guards found another inmate disoriented and face down in his room. He said he'd taken prescription drugs and was transported to the local hospital and was returned to the prison the next day.

At 10:30 p.m., another inmate was discovered out of control in his room. He was sprayed with a chemical irritant and then restrained by the staff. He was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul.

lol.

if people are out of control in a cell they spray them with pepper spray. sounds counter productive to calm people down.

Yea tripping in prison=no thanks. now heroin that would be another story. Bit I agree with dude above me it sounds like some kind of nasty ass RC.

Idiots.
About 12:33 p.m. on Dec. 24, guards found an inmate in his room, lying on the floor and unresponsive.

Since when does LSD do this to you? They have no idea what the inmates actually took.

proly wasn't really acid

and they're all dumbshits for fucking tripping in prison.
talk about having a terrible time.

all you'd think about is how horrible it was and why did you do the things you did to get in trouble and why does is have to be this way and blah blah blah. Fuck that shit.

More idiots just doing more dumb shit. All day, every day.

Fuck the world is gonna die man and we are gonna kill it. Fucking Idiots.

I've often imagined myself wanting LSD if i was in prison.. Maybe it's just me. Maybe it's because L happens to be my main drug of choice. I don't know.

Either way it doesn't sound like these guys took real L25.

Sounds like RC on paper to me as well... if people are having bad physical reactions.

But in any case who the fuck wants to trip in a jail cell??? fucking idiots for taking any drug that could even possibly be psychedelic in a prison setting to begin with. What possible positive outcome could there be?

So I take it you guys are all the type that eat acid and then pick flowers?
How is it that far fetched to have an enlightening trip come lights out? Why did I even need to type the word "enlightening"? Psychedelics don't have to be used for good, and are not inherently good in themselves.

That aside, you guys seem to all be assuming that prison is hell for everyone. Lol, far from it. A lot of people purposely go to prison, and you guys know this.

We had a lot of pills speed and opiates ofciurse spice weed heroin synthetic I did pain killers bud and syns this in Texas

Most drugs would go good in prison, not a psych though. Instant panic attack imo

You guys are weird. I always wanted someone to get me some L when I was incarcerated. One time we had plans for a cell block rave and massage party but the planned on MDMA smuggling operation fell through as well. Once I fell for the worst case of placebo ever... someone gave me a postage stamp cut off a letter and told me that it had been dosed with LSD. I ate it sometime after lunch in a common area with spectators who knew I had been duped, and 20 minutes later started getting visuals and thought I felt a subtle body high. The OEVs started to increase over the next half an hour before I realized it was placebo and the effects went away. People wouldn't stop laughing at me for days after having heard me describe the colors I was seeing on the walls after they knew I had eaten only an ordinary postage stamp.

Haha how would that work!? (The rave, the stamp thing is pretty funny too, did you really get some visuals?)

So I take it you guys are all the type that eat acid and then pick flowers?

Pick flowers!? What do you think we are, monsters?
