Think undercovers ever get addicted?

In the Uk the police have pretended to be addicts so they can get in with other addicts and then get to meet the dealers themselves to score.
Apparently they have even smoked heroin in front of other addicts while befriending them.
In order to stop them getting addicted I believe they have got implants in them. I can't recall the name of the implants,is it Natraxelene or something but it stops you feeling the heroin.
The implant is sometimes given to addicts who want to stay clean because it blocks the heroin so it makes using heroin pointless.

Fuuuck yea undercovers are junkies. What do you think happens to the dope when 2 UC's bust down a door and take all the cash, drugs and then beat your ass and leave. I'd say alot of it is sold back to the block and some is kept for themselves. It for damn sure doesn't go to the evidence room when no arrest is made.

Our narc squad(reddogs) were notorious for the shit before they got disbanded.

I don't buy into that (the naltrexone implant part). I'm sure that there are undercovers that use, but I highly doubt that there is a formal procedure of training an undercover how to smoke/snort/shoot heroin, after implanting them with naltrexone to prevent them from getting high. It's not very hard to be able to buy drugs as an undercover. Also, it's not like they can't pose as people that are looking to be dealers, so don't use.

The operations they have been doing involve them pretending to be addicts and befriending other addicts to get close to the dealers.
People on Bluelight have posted about such operations in their towns and the undercover cops have indeed sat and smoked gear in front of other addicts.
I can't believe they would risk getting a heroin addiction so I think the implants would make sense.
When the have all the info they need they arrest all the dealers and addicts they befriended.
They even beg single mum addicts into scoring for them then arresting them for supply also.
Low down dirty tactics that they employ just to get people who are generally at the bottom of the supply chain.
