Alright, so, a friend of mine acquired some mesc from a mutual friend, and seeing as I have done it a few times now asked me what to expect, I just told him that he might puke but its normal (something someone never told me the first time) and to not underestimate weed while tripping (he's a heavy heavy smoker, and again something nobody told me my first time, but i learned about between my first and second trips, this will be somewhat important).

Anyway, he ended up puking, which is odd to me because this dude came up with a game called "you think you can drink" and he ended up having profound realizations about how he doesnt need drugs, and the whole trip he was too scared to take a hit of weed. To continue rambling somewhat, my first time tripping I never heard I would throw up, and didn't, i felt fine besides a little nausea i accounted to not eating a full meal for a few days. i also smoked weed on and off, but it never made me anxious, but when i read it COULD make your trip turn anxious, the next time i tripped i took one hit and thought the cops were coming for 2 hours. So, if someone told a first time tripper BEFORE he tripped that weed would make him feel like god, would his brain make him feel like god instead of feeling anxious?

Yeah probably lol.... once my friend was tripping ball and was starting to freak out

I told him hold up! And ran to my cabinet and got a vitamin or something of the sort and came back and gave it to him, and told him it would calm him down and make all his bad feelings go away.

Right before he took it I yelled, WAIT! actually thats a really strong one, you should only take half, it will calm you down but you will still be tripping

it did exactly that lol.... weed will only really make a tripper anxious if they dont normally smoke weed

Never underestimate the tripping atmosphere, mayne! Haha, kind of makes you wonder if mind control on psychs is possible....8o

Very good thread, I've thought the same thing for a while, because most people tend to find 2C-E has a bodyload, often accompanied by substantial nausea, and I never found this to be so - so whenever I've shared it with other people I haven't mentioned the bodyload (as I suspected it was the large amount of scary trip reports that put people off) - and look what happens, not a single one of them had any bodyload or nausea at all.

On the flip side, when me and a friend were about to dose aMT, I told him I heard there was nausea with this one (I forgot the old trick) and he ended up puking his guts up.

While the placebo effect/expectations certainly influence things, we also have to consider that different people get different side effects from psychs. I think if you took the time to look (and I have read examples) of plenty of folks taking a certain psych without any warning of certain side effects (which are reported commonly) and experiencing them anyway, and then even complaining that no one told them when they find they a lot of folks report these effects.

^ I think that's the most interesting part of psychs: how it reacts with everyone completely differently. All drugs do this to some extent, but like psychs IME

I have, but I'm not very familiar with it. However, all of my experiences with psychs have let me to believe that mind control (while possible) would be incredibly difficult to do, unless you were more susceptible to psychs than most people. I mean, you can influence people and how they think MUCH easier, there's no debate about that, but actually controlling their minds? I don't think true mind control is possible at all. I'm skeptical, but hey, I'm a skeptic about everything.

Well that's why the CIA was researching on various psychedelics during the MK-Ultra project. Probably given up on those we know today and secretly use other substances not publicly known. If you watch Derren Browns: the experiment, the techniques he uses plus the use of psychoactive substances would work I think.

Not to mention that once the psych wears off, unless the person had a pre-existing schizophrenic condition or something of the like, probably the person would merely snap out of it (I would think). But I don't think the psych is the main factor in this. Sure it can be the tool to use, and it can make you more susceptible, but the mind is the subject of alteration. Hope I'm not being too ambiguous here...

Oh no that's I suppose would be correct, since I'm not a specialist in the field of the human mind and I doubt you are, we can only assume stuff or look into it more. I suppose neurology would be the true source of information for this, when the field of neurology itself has developed more but for now psychology would be the best source of information on that subject, it owuld be a great profession to combine with the field of psycho actives, it's just so hard to advance in.

Neurology in conjunction with psychopharmacology, and then psychology to determine long-term effects...possibly? And no, I'm nowhere near anything close to any type of scientist. I just pay one on TV.

This thread is valid. I've experienced states during the mescaline trip where I felt I was happier without more drugs. I would begin wondering why I chose to drink mescaline in the first place. The mescaline seemed to put me in the perfect state requiring no further combination. Then you smoke some bud and it's wow mescaline 2.0

i wish i could pull that trick with myself on 2C-E!
I think there is something about 2C-E that takes it in that negative direction more often than other psychedelics, rather than it being entirely a function of expectation.
I have a friend who loved it the first time but felt ill and overwhelmed the second time (about 6 weeks later).

i think it just hits somatic receptors hard and you really need to be super relaxed and/or determined to enjoy it. i tend to get an uncomfortable body and persistent muscle tension. sometimes, tho, the body is incredible and euphoric. and when its good its unbelievably good.
for me, dosing impulsively tends to lead to better effects than when i have cleared a time in advance for the tripping. really wish it was the opposite!

LMAO, that's pretty awesome. :D I would never think of doing something like that.
