Okay I will start with saying I enjoy the opiate high very much. Not everytime, but I'd say around 50% of the time I take oxycodone I will wake up with a headache the next morning.

I thought these headaches must be due to dehydration from the oxycodone, so I have been making sure I drink plenty of fluids; mostly water. Sometimes this seems to work and other times like last night/this morning, I still wake up woth a headache despite the fact that I drank a large amount of water.

Are these headaches due to being dehydrated, or is it something else?

I believe it is because oxycodone can cause increased cerebral and spinal fluid pressure, so water would not do anything for this.

What time of day do you generally take oxycodone? Are you still high when you fall asleep?

The only time I woke up with a bad headache after opiate use, was because I had drifted off and my breathing was too shallow, and woke up in a panicked confusion...

So it could be respiratory depression meaning that in your unconscious state you're simply not breathing properly. Does the headache wake you up? That'd be a warning sign.

I usually dose anywhere from 6-10 pm. The headache wakes me up sometimes, sometimes it will not and I will wake up at my normal time.

^That's what I was thinking.
This is one of the reasons people are put on oxygen in the hospital, despite being able to breath on their own.
