bupe question

No I disagree here if you start regularly injecting bupe you have to do at least two shots a day, I would start getting a runny nose and teary eyes 7 hours after my last shot, though I was dosing.2 mg

The answer that you're attempting to receive depends on so many factors.
1. How long have you been using the Buprenorphine?
2. Are you IVing JUST Buprenorphine, or does it also contain nalaxone, etc.
3. Do you JUST IV, or do you use other routes of administration, also?

Maybe try being more specific when you ask such a question.
It saves time :) and stuff.

There's a TON of information in the Buprenorphine/Suboxone/Subutex Megathread.
I can't get the link this very moment ("smart" phone problems, sorry) but it is on the 1st page of the
Other Dugs forum.

Good luck ;)

Yeah that's true actually, if you're not on bupe maintenance and using recreationally with little to no tolerance, iv bupe would probably last a long time. Also if you've been taking your suboxone or subutex sublingually at dosages that keep withdrawal at bay for a day or two, shooting your bupe first off wouldnt feel noticeably better, and you wouldn't be able to tell how long it lasted until you completely stick to that roa. IV bupe is really potent, 70% more absorption than sublingual, but at the same time seems to have a much shorter duration if your maintaining at a low dose, so you have to factor all that into how you set up your shots.

This is extremely basic and not suited for Other Drugs. You've been here long enough, mrflowers, to know the rules and what is expected in this forum.

I'll move this to basic drug discussion for you, but dont' be surprised if it gets closed..

Suboxone megathread :)

Just to add - whether it has naloxone in it or not has absolutely no bearing on anything. Buprenorphine has a much higher receptor affinity than naloxone (meaning it sticks to your opioid receptors hard and the naloxone doesn't get a look in) so it is effectively completely useless.

Tolerance does have an effect on duration - it is mostly down to the half-life of the drug, but it also depends what plasma concentration you need to feel the effects. If you have a high tolerance, you need a higher plasma concentration to get the opioid effects, so it can feel like the drug doesn't last as long as the plasma concentration falls. Someone with a low tolerance would feel the drug at a lower plasma concentration, so the effects last longer for them.
