When it's good it's excellent, you probably got someone's impersonation of the good shit. I don't know if you know that type of fudge called 'tablet' (think it's Scottish) but the consistency is very similar. It crumbles but sticks to itself simultaneously. Looks kind of sandy, which is mainly lightly-pressed trichomes and probably some actual sand given where it grows and how it is processed.

Anyone heard of good Afghan Black being about? There seems to be some at the moment and I'm tempted. Normally though the stuff here is the smoke that looks the part, but when you smoke it its a clean but weak as fuck high and after 2-3 bongs no matter what you wont be getting any higher. Hoping this is different!

I haven't seen good Affie black for a while, most of the black I've seen has been as you describe and often leaves a greasy streak on the paper when rolled in a spliff. Two days of that and you may as well just be smoking fags with butter on them.

Looks the part, smells the part....texture is not right though, and the taste is wrong, and you need to smoke an awful lot of it to get "high".

I'm sure there may well be some decent affy black around, but I think 95percent+ of people who claim to have it actually have this adulterated bullshit.

The same goes for most of the "pollen" and "charas" that everyone claims to have.

I'm not knocking people who are enjoying what they've got to smoke, but for many people their terms of reference are based on the last 10 years or so, so yes, adulterated black, charas, or pollen will seem beter than the hashes and soap they've seen in the past.

And the makers are getting very VERY good at making things appear to be very high quality, when they're not at all that.

I bought some fantastic looking "blonde leb" 6 months or so ago, nice 200g bars, all wrapped beautifully, all very good looking, good texture, just right amount of pliability, the smell was pretty good too, but it was like smoking wood.

yea i dont get this, why spend so much time making shite look good and risk losing customers etc of course people will return and buy but surely if its completely crap then eventually people will turn round and find other sources. the last crap black i had had a massive lions head on the bar, we were smoking 8-9 lungs of it just to get a bit high, been coughing up black since! but thats nothing compared to some of the soap ive had, may aswell of been coming from a petrol tank

If it's nice blonde it should bubble and expand a bit when held about 4mm from a flame. Good blonde tends to stick to your fingers a little as you crumble it. In a spliff your best bet is to heat and crumble til it looks like golden sand and sprinkle it evenly on a bed of tobacco. Rolling tobacco works best as it cradles and cossets the precious grains of hashish and allows them to smoulder at the correct pace instead of blazing briefly amid the uncaring saltpetre-saturated flakes of cigarette tobacco. If you have a pipe you may get best effects by taking a piece half the size of a pea, placing it in the bowl, having one lug on it then squashing it so it crumbles a little then repeating. The purer the hash the lighter the ash. Enjoy!

Does anyone have any opinions on vaping hash? I bought a Volcano digit at great personal cost and to be honest I don't even like the feeling compared to smoking with tobacco. I think I just like tobacco?!

Agree completely with what you're saying- someone has put in a lot of time into finding adulterants which result in a product which confounds the senses by appearing to be great shit. OR the traditional plants have been forced out by (most likely dutch) strains which yield faster or fatter but are lacking some of the elements necessary for an authentic hashish experience. Perhaps traditional manufacturing techniques are being used on shitty new strains which aren't fit for purpose - that's a bit of a depressing thought, I hope it's the former.

I thought for a while that I had just developed an astounding tolerance but the odd bit of sympa which has appeared among the faux hashes has proved me wrong. Particularly this one ball of real black from about eight years ago which rolled out of my pipe and behind some furniture and when recovered and smoked four years later made listening to a double album an enchanting, blissful zonked out lucid dream. I think that could have been the last hash I was 100% happy with and can understand why a lot of people would have assumed it was mixed with opium.

@Ecsplosiv - that certainly looks nice, as you've probably gathered it's hard to tell from looks but I certainly hope you've got some good clean hash there.

It will take some time to get used to the buzz of vaped weed alone. Once you get used to the proper weed high without the tobacco messing it up it is miles better.

I like vaping hash, I haven't tried it with my volcano yet but used to do it with my whip style vape and it was great. You have to crumble it really fine tho or you dont get big hits.

I can get all sorts of fucked up drugs but i still can't find genuinely decent import hash. I get told all the time that there is nice polm about but it's never what its made out to be. Same with charas and nepalise temple ball, it always turns out to be the same old shit. Genuine nepalise temple ball hash is rare as fuck not much is made, everyone on bluelight seems to be able to get it all the time. I hear a lot of talk about "iso - hash" on hear as well. Ice o lator is very exspensive to make and it takes a fair bit of effort to produce, again reading this site you would think it was every where and it's really not.

Fair play if people are getting genuinely good shit, im jealous but i really doubt that most people are. Alot of my mates think i'm a snob when i tell them there "pollen" is shite, i'm not i just know the diffrence between good and bad and i don't pretend that it's proper if it's not. I'm not saying that no one is getting what they claim to but i would put money on it that most aren't.

and bcf, I'm sorry, pictures of hash mean nothing, unless you're using a proper macro lens and very hjigh resolution....I could take some photos of this affy black I've got, and it'l look like Affy black, but it's not. I only know that cos I have smoked real affy black. If this was the first affy black I'd ever got me hands on, I'd think it loads better than everything I'd had previously, and naturally I'd think it was the real deal.

Not really, you take the trim that you were going to chuck out anyway and get a bucket, some ice and some tights, basically. It's not commonly available if you don't know a grower, but it's not a complicated process.

I've very rarely seen black hash in this country that wasn't utter shit (ironically, the best actually came out of my mate's arse). Even in Amsterdam, most of the black is adulterated shite. Good rule of thumb- if your hash leaves hard cinders of ash, it's fucking rubbish. Mouldy charas and gold seal are not for me.

I agree it's easy and cheap to make if you are a grower, but at commercial scales (and some people on this site seem to be able to buy "ice-o-lator" from their dealers) it doesn't really happen. Even in NL you pay 30-50Euros a g for Ice-o-lator.

And yeah i know the exact stuff your on about, the consistency is off, even when its cold its pliable, has a sort of playdough smell and taste, i think its from the ghee or fat they use to bulk it out

I agree with you vader about ICE O LATOR, it's never been my faviroute hash for the exact reasons you've stated i've always prefered the flavour of dry sift. ICE O LATOR isn't difficult to make but for some reason it always used to take me the whole evening to make it and im very aware that growers just use trim or scrappy buds so for them yes it is cheap but it's still not really worth them selling it. I've read people on here complaing about having to pay £280 an oz for it as if that was out ragious lol which is just pure bullshit.

bcf you really can't tell anything from that picture it could be very high quality or just shite that looks the part. If your enjoying it then fairplay to you, maybe you are one of the lucky ones that can get the real deal.

With blonde hash, yeah, I find that it dries out and goes hard very quickly unless it's wrapped up. It's still OK, but it doesn't taste as good and it's harder to crumble up. Charas has more moisture, and has a tendency to go mouldy, so I wouldn't necessarily wrap that up.
Can you see individual trichs in the black hash bcf? I would have thought that most of them would be burst.

Ahh i meant the pollen, yeah the charas is mainly just mushed trichs with the odd few intact and a bit of leaf material and pistals etc
