Older rollers

Notice the dates on the recent posts on this topic. A lot of older rollers are writing about E on NYE. They're not TAKING it on NYE, but writing about it on NYE.

I think this points up how disconnected many older rollers are from a scene where they could be partying on the biggest party night of the year. And that's a little sad.

But, maybe, I am just seeing their sadness because it's four days after I danced, and danced.
;)

Just cause i was writing about rolling on NYE doesn't mean i'm not rolling on NYE ;-)

Well me and several of my old roller friends had one of the best New Years to date. We had some beatiful uncut mdma rock crystal. That stuff rocked!

Glad to hear you had "one of the best New Years to date." So did my friends and I, all old fogeys. And I hope everybody else did.

It's nice, too, that this thread is evolving into a place where older rollers in general can look to talk to each other.

Maybe we need a new focus. How about we address: Are the difficulties in dealing with the comedown and hangover worse for you guys as you have aged, less bad, or about the same as when you did it when you were younger?

I'm 34. I had my first experience at age 29, was too scared to try it before. Ive suffered from clinical depression for most of my life. MDMA changed my life! I learned what happiness and euphoria felt like. I learned we are all connected. I have gone from using it on special occasions (1/yr) to heavy use (1-2/mo) and backed it off to 3-4 times a year. I have had amazing experiences in the bedroom, house parties, meditation, clubs, and music festivals. I have noticed quite a change in my cognitive thinking - for the better! I have had life changing thought processes while on mdma, that I know for a fact I never would have reached otherwise. I admit i do pine for it sometimes, but i believe this drug to be a teacher. Due to my desire to use it effectively, it kick started a healthy eating/living lifestyle that I never could find motivation for before (thus teaching me how to properly care for myself). These healthy habits allowed me to be in better control of my depression, instead of the depression controlling me, and many more positive drip down effects with the ladies! As a minimalist with a penchant for only the best, I tend to stock up on what I need so I don't search for it often. This leads to another problem or two: temptation and hoarding. This drug taught me self control. MDMA also has replaced my former heavy drinking habit. This is just the tip of the iceberg, of course. I don't worry about what others think of my habits, because no one can understand my life and what I deal with every day. I shudder to think what my life would be like had I never taken the plunge.

i've noticed a difference for the positive, but thats probably because I'm in better shape physically, mentally, and emotionally since my first roll(see my previous post for explanation). I will say the more I do it, the less desirable a bad hangover is, thus i'm more careful about things in general. I don't see that as a bad thing.

I'm only 18 (19 in 1 hour and 19 minutes) but I hope to be like you lot when I'm in my thirties.

When I'm old and retired I plan to smoke weed erryday and do MD occassionally.

My comedowns are generally pretty mild but then again like others have said I've learned the importance of testing product each and every time and only using top quality stuff. I"d rather just pass than use something sub-par. I think this combined with the fact that I make sure to give myself plenty of time between adventures to fully recover keep me ok on the comedowns.

Generally if I'm planning an adventure I drop on Friday night and through the night into Saturday morning we're flying high. Usually around 8-10 am or so we're more or less coming down but it's an afterglow sort of feeling. I make sure to have this entire day empty and completely open to anything. Generally this is a great cuddle watch movies sort of time. Some healthy light foods (as I'll probably not really want to eat much at this point still) and some juices or smoothies (darksidedan's banana oat smoothie will be here next time around) to enjoy through out the day. As the day turns into evening or night sleep tends to lurk around 9pm ish or so. I can sleep really well this night and wake up Sunday feeling generally pretty great. I'll take my 5htp here and eat a healthy filling breakfast. Life resumes as normal after breakfast.

I will tell you all that hangovers from alcohol are much worse and I'd imagine from other substances that I used to enjoy a lot would be as well but for MDMA. . .when i keep my product clean and the intervals between long enough I seem to come down nice and easily.

Happy ALMOST birthday.

I agree with Nottamous: Fridays are the night to do it. Two days to recover beats one for me.

On the other hand, if a good house party is on Saturday night, then I'm all about Saturday night. I try to keep it to about 6 or 7 times a year, which is heavier actually than when I was younger and doing it in the 90s. But we would go longer, later, and use more back then. At this point in my life (early 60s) it's a good idea to pace myself.

Unless the party is going to be really good.

see, I always try hard not to act as an example for the younger generation (as I dont feel that old myself)...and this is what happens......!!!
hahahahaha.....great, love your comment.

...and happy belated B-day to you!

It probably all in my head, but really feel like my recoverys are better than when i was younger...like my brain has become more efficient at recovering to baseline...almost like it knows what's up and reacts to fix it faster. It's either that or I've just gotten so used to how I feel the days after that I don't notice as much...that or it doesn't concern me cause I know i'll feel fine soon enough. Should also note I eat super healthy and exercise all the time.

I'm 33 I don't feel old lol but been rolling since 98. I don't do it as often now but I still do enjoy rolling. When I started it was more for raves and clubs but now I only roll with my lady 2-3 times a year. Mainly our anniversary and special occasion. Recovery for us isn't bad. Normaly only takes a day.
