Opioids Opana wd question

I was on 40mg ER Opana 3 times a day. My doc got it approved for me to take 3 a day instead of 2 a day. Then I after a few months my pain went back to the previous pain level before taking 3 a day. The doc decided to reduce my pain meds, saying the increase was causing me more pain. I forget the medical term she used for it. Anyway, I went from the Opana 40mg ER 3 x's a day to 40mg ER 2 x's a day for 2 weeks and then to 30mgs ER 2 x's a day. When I went to 30mgs Er 2x's a day, I woke up with what I thought were wd's. I would wake up after not having a dose for 10-12hours, with the shakes, sweating, chills, nose running, sneezing and muscle pain. I would immediately take my med and it took over an hour to begin to get any relief and 3 hours before I felt less pain. I am wondering 1). Why do I feel wd after sleeping and waking up and only missing the dose within 10-12 hours (it is said the medication is supposed to work that long), but I do not feel wd symptoms at night before it is time to take my night time dose and it could be the same hours of not taking it? 2) it has been 2 weeks since my dose has been lowered to 30mgs and I still wake up feeling these "wd" symptoms, why is this? Can someone help me understand?

In addition, I will be moving out of state in the next month or so, I hope, but I am nervous about if I will get a new doc that will treat me with the same pain medication. What do I do if I cannot find a doc to help me and I go through withdrawals from not having my 30mg of ER Opana 2 x's a day??? This is scaring me to be honest. I appreciate any help.

As far as moving it really depends on what state you are moving to because its easier to get what you want in some places than others. At least you can say to the new place that you have been getting opanas and have the paperwork to back it up and everything. You should be alright i would think.

Ok and with the opana withdrawal im not sure of your route of adminstration but it sounds like you are taking them correctly(orally). I always IV them but i would think the withdrawal effects are still similar in terms of when they set in. I have noticed that when i do opana i always start withdrawing way sooner than i do with heroin. I can use at 10pm at night and go to bed high and nodding off and I'll still wake up in the morning with the chills and all the shittiness. I know it says the medication is supposed to work that long but that probably applies more to someone who isnt as opiate tolerant as we are. Opana will get you really high but it just doesnt last long from what i have noticed.

Another thing you can do if you want the pill to hit you faster so u dont have to feel bad for an hour after you swallow it. You can remove that outer coating either with a knife or just licking the pill and rubbing it off. That should cut off some of the wait time there and also you can chew it up and swallow it. I imagine doing those two things should cut the time down considerably. Since your dr dropped the dose on you too that doesnt help. But eventually you will have to get off the medication so you might as well start tapering now as long as your pain is under control in the process.

Thanks Sub Shooter!

Yes, I am taking them orally. I have always been someone who needs a stronger strength of opiates to help with pain then some people and I become very tolerant quickly. I could try your method in the mornings. My pain has increased since she reduced the pain meds. I have been on pain meds for 6 years. I have been on Morphine, Fentynal, Percocet and now Opana. She talked to me about Nucynta and gave me a coupon to get 10 free from pharmacy....they did not do a lot with pain relief, probably because now I am on Opana and that is so strong. I am moving to Alabama and trying to do research on where to go, where they will help me with my meds. So many docs do not want to give out pain meds. I just want pain relief and it to be controlled. I almost am ready to get off the opiates and just smoke MJ for pain. IMHO, I feel it is less addictive (well to me, not addictive), not sure at this point what will be my best option. I do not like, and I know no one does, withdrawals. I want to enjoy my life with tolerable pain. I am hoping though that with my paper work/medical records, I will have no problem with getting my Opana in Alabama.

Thanks again, Sub Shooter.

I hope I did not indicate in anyway that I was looking for drugs on this site. First, and no offense to those who are, but I am not an addict and I am grateful not to be. I have seen the pure hell people with addiction go through. I have had family and friends with addiction...as you see I put the word HAD....they are dead now. I came on this site to ask questions about my prescribed medications, that I take as Rx's, because to be honest, I believe addicts and those who have been on rx's meds a long time, know a lot more than most pharmacists and doctors know. I do not see in any comment anything about anyone asking to get drugs from anyone. Thanks Sekio for keeping an eye out for those "dealing" drugs on the site. Have a wonderful New Year!

I actually completely agree with you on this matter. Problem with most people is that they think you're full of shit if you don't have phd of some sort. When i try to offer people medical advice based on legitimate experience rather than books they tend to stick their nose up at me. That's why i like this site. People know the real experts are the ones who have experienced it.

Please don't attempt to find drugs through this site, legal or otherwise. It's against the rules.

Hes not broke any rules, you seem to not pay much attention I'm new here but a long time lurker and I got say that's second time you obviously rush through without paying attention...

I would suggest looking up hospitals, private doctors, and pain management specialist on Google and calling your results and ask a few? 'S over the phone explain your moving there, your concerns, and everything.

i know you're not lucky but YOU LUCKY BASTARD

how much do you pay for your script? jc

i understand your fears. unfortunately there are few good choices for you. im assuming you live in the states so codeine (OTC) is out of the option, possibly suboxone? or cop on the street, but i have a feeling that's not your thing
