I'm 47 going on 18. I usually inspire equal amounts of ridicule and envy. Respect's a new one though. I'll take that.

And the picture is on y Mynydd Ddu (the Black Mountain) near the south-west tip of the Beacons. It's at the site of an old mine. You can drive up nearly all the way to the top (about 1800 ft - ish) and then walk off over the tops of high mountains for miles.

The view is stunning.

It is truly stunning. I really miss living in Wales and it's probably the place I'd most like to end up, at least in terms of temperate zones. The closest Britain gets to wilderness. The closest Britain gets to Britain.
