Question about medication (Lamotrigine) and AMT

For starters, this is my first post so sorry if it's in the wrong place!

Ok, so Lamotrigine is the medication I take for epilepsy - 200mg/day, 2 100mg pills taken, with several hours in between each pill.

According to my Dr, it isn't safe to mix drugs with lamotrigine, but I've taken cannabis, LSA, Tai High, valium and 6APB (in the form of Benzo Fury) and havn't had any (apparent) negative consequences due to the medication...

So Ive bought 100mg of AMT, powder form and was speaking to a pharmacist friend about it. He said it was an MIAO iinhibitor(?) please correct that if it's wrong...

Apparently this means mixing AMT with anything else is going to end nastily.

My plan for taking AMT (if i do), is to take the lamotrigine pill at least 4 hours before the AMT, to avoid "mixing" as much as possible and of course take as smaller dose of AMT as reasonably possible (about 10mg).

Does anyone know if this would be "safe"?

I know that it isnt going to be 100% safe, nothing really is, and that the only way to find out is to try it (as I intend to)

So my question is: Does this seem a reasonable precaution? I will also have someone to contact quickly if anything bad does happen.
Also, any other ideas to increase safety?

And aMT with cannabis is one of my favorite combinations :D

Ok....this is going to be a very hard decision...from the reports ive read the effects sound amazing - a mix of euphoria and hallucinating, but it sounds risky :/

If I waited as long as possible after taking lamotrigine would it still count as mixing? (Assuming that the lamotrigine has been fully "digested", if thats the word for it)

Also could anyone please explain the danger of MAOIs? I heard that its mixing with other drugs that can cause serotonin syndrome...but cannabis contains THC...so what is it not safe to mix with? :/

I couldn't tell you how long to wait as I am not a doctor, so I suggest asking one of yours. If my memory serves me correctly, I usually read that 2 weeks is the safe time. But again, ask your doctor.
And its not safe to mix with serotonin releasing drugs such as MDMA.

Isnt 6APB serotonin releasing though? And if I didn't take lamotrigine for 2 weeks I would end up in hospital...I'm tempted to take 10mg and see what happens...I mean surely 10mg isn't going to cause serotonin syndrome?
 
I couldn't tell ya as I have no experience with Benzo Fury and erowid has little to say on it.

And I feel like its much more worth it to call your doctor
 
I can't tell you much about this specific interaction - but when in doubt, don't do it! :)

Well Ive just looked up a bit of info on serotonin syndrome. Most of the symptoms = effects/side effects of AMT.

However, AMT should be over within...12-15 hours? the main effects at least...so if Im still out of it/nauseas etc after 24 hours call an ambulance is my plan.

Does anyone know if 24 hgours is too long to wait to see if I have serotonin syndrome is too long?

6-APB had similar effects - very mild visuals (I know AMT visuals are stronger), euphoria, jaw clenching, some nausea on the come up etc.

I know its probably stupid to try it but Ive always wanted to try a hallucinogen before and this seems a good starter, provided I dont get SS and keep it a small dose to start.

Does anyone know an approximate probability of SS if 2 serotonin releasing drugs are taken?

OK Lamotrigine is a weak MAOI apparently but if 6-APB went alright then I think 30mg of AMT (probably more this chemical shines at 50mg doses) should be safe. Have some benzos and a trip sitter. If serotonin syndrome sets in then pop a benzo and keep your head cool (wet towel should do the trick).

Is and MAOI the same thing as a serotonin releasing drug?

What's a benzo?
