Opioids Is tramadol an opioid?

Yes.

And it causes seizures.

I wouldn't recommend using high doses to abuse it. You'll eventually seize and wake up with paramedics all around you. You'll have pissed yourself and you'll probably end up fighting the medics and will have forgot everything you ever knew for a whole two hours, like I did.

No good.

It looks like you would do well to speak to a doctor about suboxone or something of that sort. It will help you out a ton. Kratom would help you too.

Tramadol is dangerous. If I had been swimming or driving while I seized on that stuff, I wouldn't be here. :(

I mean, sure, you can use it, but you'll end up building a tolerance and using too much and ultimately have a seizure.

Go to google and find *snip* kratom. Use that. More powerful than tramadol anyways, and MUCH safer. :)

wow that sounds so scary.... i mean I have waken up from a seizure when I was detoxing of h for the first time but i was in the hospital already.

do you know what is all in tram?

Yes its an opiod and I take it everyday so I dont get the urge to do Opanas. It works for me, but i feel as though I have had seizures in my sleep, which isnt fun.

It makes me feel mellow and is almost the identical feeling to coming down from a stronger opioid. You dont get high per say but you feel "normal"

my friend said to smoke it.. would that even work?

The faster it gets to your brain, the more chance you have of having a seizure.

These aren't "safe" seizures either. They have the ability to damage your brain.

Your answer is: Hell no, don't smoke it. Don't even touch it. You'll end up wrecked and ruined. :^/

Yes it is but is extremely different than your standard opiod. In low doses it speeds me out.

LOGan1314 what was the best way you found for takin them
my man really wants to know and wont listen to me about the seizures

You obviously can't see it, but you and your husband's behavior is shocking. All of your previous posts have all reinforced this.

Tramadol is an atypical opioid. Meaning it isn't a "typical" opiate like morphine or codeine, and is synthetically derived. Tramadol has a mixed action that isn't fully understood, but it is (at least partially) metabolized into o-desmethyltramadol which is what gives tramadol it's unique mu-agonist properties.

Abusing tramadol does come with risks, including seizures. It's never a smart idea to take more than 400mg in a 24hour period, as the 'threshold' for seizure territory can vary from person to person.

The seizure risk isn't taken seriously enough IMO, and it is a horrible experience. I would not wish it on my worst enemy. My advice to your husband (if he has a problem with abusing tramadol in extremely high dosages) is to start taking a small dosage of a benzodiazepine with the tramadol. When I say small, I mean minimal. The lowest possible dosage. You need very little to get the anti-convulsant effect you're after here.

The best way to take tramadol, plain and simply, is to "ramp" your dosage up. Dose in small intervals over a set period of time until you reach the desired dosage. A lot of the more unpleasant side effects (especially from high doses) can be reduced by doing this properly, as opposed to eating them all at once.

BuddingPharmacist: Please keep opinions and the like to a minimum, as they do nothing to add to the subject at hand.

EDIT: Do not smoke tramadol. Or any pills for that matter, ever.

Best way to avoid seizures with this stuff: stagger doses. This means take one 50mg pill every 20 minutes, instead of all at once. Spacing out your doses means you get more opioid activity out of it, because more tramadol is converted into O-Desmethyltramadol. Don't take more than 8 pills (400mg) in a day, people have seized on less.

^"Staggering" or "ramping" the dosage is extremely effective in reducing the undesirable side effects, very good advice. It certainly works much better in terms of recreational value as well; you get a lot more out of it.

granted i have a solid opiate tolerance i was or am an iv heroin addict but to me this stuff is useless it doesnt even help with migraines

I have a friend who takes about 30 of these a night... he kinda goes on these lil binges but he takes about 2 or 3 at a time and repeats this all night...

What kinda damage is he doing eating them like this? Even my mum told him off about it recently but he seems to not care.. is here any other dangers such high doses can cause? To my knowledge he hasn't had a seizure yet...

He could find a more recreational drug to binge off, that's for sure.

Tramadol isn't all that recreational, period.

If you are a recovering heroin addict, you shouldn't be messing with all of these weaker opioids. They all have the potential to cause physical and psychological dependence, and they may lead you right back to heroin.

I have seen you asking about smoking all different pills, and the answer is going to be the same for each one. Don't do it!
This Opiate Pill Mass Thread shows how little the amount of active ingredient is in each pill, which means that you are inhaling so much of the inactive fillers and binders in order to get the small % of active ingredients, and if your technique isn't perfect you may miss that small amount of the drug. Now pair that with the fact that the bioavailability of smoking these drugs is usually lower than more viable ROAs such as oral or nasal, and you can see why everyone says that you should not be smoking pills.

^^ I've tried it myself and hated it, but for some reason he loves it.... when I found out what dosages he was taking I was kinda of worried, it seems very extreme!

I was just wondering whether those dosages would cause a lot of damage to his body, as far as I know he probably binges like that 5 days straight every couple of months... sorry if this is a really silly question I just worry about him, he has a new pot of 500 50mg capsules :|
