Hi im a by-weekly mushroom user and have been for about half a year. I consume on average 1.5-2 grams ever trip. should i be worried about become brain dead or having serious effects later on in life. I also used to do mdma by-weekly for a year, what are the effects of that?

dude you can't eat mushrooms or mdma multiple times a week...it's not rocket science. I would wait atleast a week between trips if not more, as for MDMA you seriously rolled 104 times in one year?? I can't even imagine rolling twice a month for a year, much less twice a week.

No problem.

And no, you're not going to go brain dead from eating mushrooms twice a month. Mushrooms are like, almost 100% benign. MDMA should probably be kept to once a month, but if you've already stopped doing it frequently I seriously doubt you're going to suffer any lasting complications.

so i shouldnt be worried or feel guilty about my trips? And i have stoped doing mdma i lost the magic so not much point anymore.

No, you're gonna be fine. You're not going to cause any sort of permanent damage from eating mushrooms. If you trip too frequently there's a chance you might start to experience some depression, mania, or in extreme cases psychosis, but those wouldn't by any means be permanent. And you I seriously doubt you'd be getting anywhere near experiencing such side effects only tripping twice a month.

What sort of insights are you gaining from your trips? Not ones that allow you to see into your own question?

Except from your trips becoming quite dull, the risk is probably not very high. In terms of "permanent brain damage", I consider acidhead/New Age-conceptions of the world to be a mild form of brain damage (or at least pretty negative), and I would suppose that these follow (too) regular exposure to psychedelics (every two weeks is definitely pushing it). You might not regard it as such.
I would not be surprised if you have already sustained some lasting brain injury from using MDMA twice every month for a full year. It is probably not catastrophic, but not without harm either. (To assess this in your particular case, we would need a study investigating your cognitive, social and other functions before and after the period of usage).

EDIT: My dictionary just informed me that "biweekly" can mean both "twice a week" and "every two weeks" (obviously not simultaneously!).

I once asked myself if I was using psychedelics too often while on 7 grams of mushrooms. Then I realized that by asking the question I'd essentially answered it. If it's even a question to you then perhaps it would be more rewarding for you if you toned it down a bit. There shouldn't be any physical problems if you continue your use as mushrooms are pretty damn safe to use. But mentally you may run into problems. At the very least you may lose the magic of psychedelics, if you haven't already. I suppose it's up to you, though. Just offering my perspective on it.

^ I couldn't agree more. If you're questioning your use, you're using too much in my opinion. The only good psychedelic use should sit 100% with you, no doubts or questioning :)

You won't become braindead by eating mushrooms bi-weekly, some people have even used them at low doses daily with great success as an anti-depressant, but it can leave you very physically and mentally worn out - with quite the high tolerance, so I wouldn't advise it despite physically being pretty safe.

As for MDMA bi-weekly? Definitely not! Stick to the "one month rule" for MDMA and similar compounds, at the very most, or you're not only damaging your serotonin regulation in the long run, but also ruining the fun and magic for yourself.

Yes, JG but personally I'd say that try to stretch it out a bit more even with mushrooms. It is better to give yourself more time to integrate the experiences and to prevent losing the magic which can happen with a lot of things. Many drugs have a honeymoon phase. Consider cannabis, if you manage to keep it to monthly use the experiences are IMO so awesome and looking back I would have found it more worthwhile and less harmful to have kept it to once a month instead of much more frequently for years. Then I quit and kept it to very very sporadically.
Cannabis is not directly harmful but it has impact on your lifestyle. Mushrooms are not directly harmful but like LSD they have impact on your modes of thinking. I took acid weekly for almost a year and while I found that the worst it seemed to do was cause temporary mild HPPD-like symptoms it made me TOO open-minded. I lost my ability to put things into perspective and look at things with my feet on the ground.

Look it's great to feel psychedelic on a regular basis but if I may give you a piece of advice there is more pervasive balance when you take it down a notch. Then when you dó trip it's more of a peak and it relativates better to your baseline levels. If you want your baseline state of mind to be wonderfully centered I recommend increasing the frequency and session-lengths of meditation and physical practices like yoga, t'ai chi or several forms of martial arts.

^ Mm yes definitely. When I first discovered psychedelics they were so novel that I too wanted to trip all the time, I was tripping every half week/week for 2 or 3 months. I thought I was still enjoying it but in reality I had very high tolerance, little/no magic left, and my trips started to take a turn for the worse..

..Soon enough though I took a break, and this year I've tripped like 8 times total (a little more than that with dissociatives included) which believe it or not is still quite a lot. You should really trip once a month though or less if you want to enjoy your trips and really benefit from them. YYMV of course :)
