To make a long story short, I'll try and summarize the points of this post.
Sex: Male
Weight: 150lbs
Opiate tolerance: Little -- 125mg oxy total in ~30mg doses 3 months ago; .4mg buprenorphine 6 months ago; 60mg oxy in 3x20mg doses about a year ago; handful amount of various codeine doses in the past year
I obtained 30mg hydromorphone to use with my girlfriend while out of town last week. Our ROA was insufflation. I did research before hand and set a 10mg maximum for me. Prior to snorting the first line I had 5 shots of 40% alcohol + 2 beers several hours before and 2 more beers within the hour before. I'm aware of all the risks between alcohol and opiates and planned to adjust my dose accordingly.
However, I did not make the adjustment. For whatever stupid reason I probably ended up snorting ~25mg. I have no memory past the first line.
I passed out for 12 hours and my girlfriend tried to wake me up in every way possible, to no avail.
Here's the weird bit... When I woke up, I went to stand, and fell down; my left leg+foot was numb (along with my left hand and my right knee & thigh). This was terrible in addition to the other after-effects of the hydromorphone (vomited many many times throughout the day, hands shaking all day, couldn't eat for 24 hours)
I noticed feeling slowly coming back by being able to move my foot very slightly by that night (24 hours post-dose) so I told myself I'd be fine eventually and need not go to the hospital or anything.
It took 72 hours to be able to walk as normal, but still some numbness remained. It wasn't the pins and needles type of numb, it was just straight numb, as if your dentist numbs your mouth... just all over my legs.
I thought this was weird as hell and could find no similar stories. So, does anyone know wtf could have caused this? It was a bitch having to get around without feeling in your foot for 3 days -_-.
Obviously my dose was plenty too high, and it was stupid as hell, but I'm trying to figure out more specifically the cause of this. Just mind boggling.
ALSO, a major point to add: 7 months ago I fell down stairs resulting in an epidural hematoma traumatic brain injury and was hospitalized for 9 days, receiving the healthy OK to go back to normal life 2 months after that. I presume this dose plus residual damage equals this crazy experience? I facepalm myself.
Thanks
