Television Boardwalk Empire

^ Yeah, he already has the darkness around his eyes brought out by his pale skin

Jimmy's first lesson: don't let your enemies know where you and your family lay their head. I have a feeling manny is going to catch up to him one way or another.

You called it and holy fuck did it turn out bad
I can't believe he killed his wife

I bet Jimmy goes on a dope binge next episode, either that or flip the fuck out

This episode was god tier and I bet the next two will only be better

I think you're spot on about the dope binge.
Looks like next episode, Jimmy's gonna be smacked out and a non-factor, counted out.
I'd bet that in the last episode he and Richard(IMO, the coolest character on TV) are gonna destroy some people. Many people.

Michael Pitt already looks like he's perpetually on dope.

have you seen his IRL girlfriend, jaime bouchert? they make a very heroin chic couple.

sunday night was a good night for tv. both my programs (yes, i'm 90 and say "programs"), Boardwalk and The Walking Dead, were great episodes.

^wow-interesting theory on Pitt. also I am 90 as well-an oldie but goodie,I am,lol. I know how you feel and I agree, both programs "The Walking Dead" (even though I am a fan of the graphic novels) and "Boardwalk" were extremely satisfying!
as far as Pitt and heroin-he has a very natural talent at looking, strung out and basically FUCKED UP!-anyone seen his performance in the movir "Hedwig and the Angry Inch"? he looks-well,not exactly healthy, but the plot gives good reason for this.
back to "Boardwalk"-idk about his personal habits, but the storyline calls for him to be metaphorically "drawn and quartered". he is so internally tormented-a war vet-his struggle w/ his love for Nucky-his desire to provide for his family-his now "Kingly" status-Manny-the liquor problem in Atlantic City.
I mean, who wouldn't look like a strung out dope fiend.

I do think he will turn to heroin eventually. and I wonder just how much of the program will follow historical facts or if history is just an outline for a bad ass show.
Only 2 shows left!
I love Gretchen Mol but she is a MAJOR mind fuck in this and I think she is more than key is what has and is to unfold...also I wonder where Richard will fall as far as loyalty in light of Angela's murder.

Wow. Just saw next weeks's sneak peek. Jimmy's first lesson: don't let your enemies know where you and your family lay their head. I have a feeling manny is going to catch up to him one way or another.

I also noticed there are only 3 episodes left, WTF? These last three episodes better be action fucking packed. The sneak peek was even prett slow. :::sigh:::

nah-the last episode was kick ass-and sneaks show
NSFW:
Margaret confessing to cheating and after Nucky told Owen on 2 occasions "I don't like secrets" if she lets the cat out of the bag about her and Owen,Nucky may go Medieval on Owen's ass! -Jimmy on his knees crying-obviously about Angela's death and possible the fact she was killed w/ her lesbian lover(as a lesbian I am pissed that Angela is dead,I liked the portrayal of the struggles of gay(or possibly bi in Angela's case, although I believe that to be a cover)also Jimmy's mom saying "what you did-we will never speak of it again" hinting to the fact that Jimmy killed Angela and her lover???-I mean the woman was rapped by Dabney Coleman at 13-AND she admitted to Angela that she used to kiss Jimmy's "winkie" when she changed his diaper-what a FREAK,but understandably so-either way Jimmy's mom is trouble-and as far as Nucky "bitching out"-he is way too fucking smart,he may even win Jimmy's loyalty of Angela's death in an attempt to really fuck Manny up.

I think the last 2 episodes will kick ASS!

<3 u Memph!!!
.................skillz =D

oh yeah-it wasn't Jimmy-it was Mickey Doyle who buckled under Manny's abuse who revealed where Jimmy lived...However,Jimmy should've killed Doyle-what a dick, asshat goober-I think he is based on real life "Dutch" Schultz but I need to do more reading on the real history-I just know Schultz changed his name for similar reasons as Doyle-he didn't want his nationality known.... anyway, you are basically right bc Doyle is a fucking ball and chain.

What the fuck is going on!!!??????

This season went from disappointing to fucking epic and as fucked up as it gets it a couple episodes. What... the... fuck, Jimmy?

Jimmy says...
"vitamin H helps keep bad feelings at bay-
got drunk at college, fucked mom one day.
Home from a trip to find my cheating wife dead,
All there's left to do it what was in Oedipus' head"

to protect those who haven't yet seen it:
NSFW:
I called part of this in my last post-Jimmy's mom is fucking trouble-he should've finished her off ofter he took care of dickhead dad.I had a feeling Jimmy and mommy had had sex. she is twisted-but again-the flip side is,she probably suffered from being a 13 year old sex slave to old nasty, and having a child-I am sure part of her survival was learning to be so devious and controlling-still... I think Richard may go off the deep end-he secretly loved Angela and was jealous of Jimmy. Glad Van Alden's dirty laundry is finally being aired out. Wonder if Doyle-or any of Jimmy's so called associates will at least man up and tell him about Manny being the murderer of his wife. I can still see Jimmy trying to reconcile w/ Nucky, but now that he has a taste of dope-his loyalty quite possible remains w/ Lucky and friends instead. As far as Margaret-man I am beginning to hate her "poor me" attitude...again she is a product of her upbringing and environment, mainly the Catholic church. I REALLy liked her and Nucky together-and he really loves those kids-and her and I believe he meant it when he said he was going to raise a family w/ Margaret. Katie, the maid, might be the one to spill the beans to Nuck about Margaret and Owen and then I wonder just how much shit will hit the fan. Just some thoughts on current story line and where the finally might take us next week!!! Fuck I can't wait!

All in all,GREAT pre-finale episode-nice to have some real back story introduced.

I love Gretchen Mol but she is a MAJOR mind fuck in this and I think she is more than key is what has and is to unfold...also I wonder where Richard will fall as far as loyalty in light of Angela's murder.

Nice call.
There has always been some kind of weird sexual tension between Jimmy and mom. The kissing, her diaper changing comment from earlier this season, tiny age gap serving to blur things) but I did not expect that. I don't know why, now, but I didn't.
I think a lot of the conflicts that have defined Jimmy's character just went out the window. His hesitancy to use violence as option number one and his still somewhat intact moral scope are(hopefully) gone.
As far as Richards allegiance goes, I think he's fairly sure Jimmy didn't kill her. Also, at this point, Jimmy's all he's got left. His fellow soldier and all that. I think he'll follow him to the end.
Also, I can't help but feel there's some kind of reconciliation coming between Jimmy and Nucky. A uneasy one, no doubt, but still....

I can't fucking wait for this finale. I hope Manny Horowitz manages to survive, he has been my favorite character lately. I love my old school Jewish gangsters, especially with the Yittish accent. Lansky has been cool as well, and I am hoping to see some actual character development out of Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegal (favorite all time gangster) next season, instead of a guy who occasionally makes loud noises.

^I'm already out the exit..... Good thing it was the series finale. Oh wait, there's more seasons to come? Never seen a show commit suicide so swiftly.
Jimmy and Richards characters were the only reason to watch that fucking show. Yeah, I'm pissed. Like Deadwood being canceled pissed.

For anyone that's still looking forward to next season: why?

I really hope they can make the next season successful. Jimmy was half the show, IMO. I think Margaret is the character who is on her way out next year. She is a replaceable actor, however, Pitt is not. Who could they possibly find who is more compelling than Jimmy? It would be like Breaking Bad killing off Jesse in Season 2, or The Sopranos killing off Chris in season 2. The whole master/apprentice plot is essential to these types of crime dramas. Without the young apprentice, these shows would be about a bunch of old corrupt motherfuckers jerking each other off for one hour each Sunday.

It is a fucking risky move, I highly doubt they can just bring in any new young guy to be the new apprentice. This show had enough trouble getting the ball rolling for the entire first half of the season. I was very disappointed in it up to a point, where it eventually redeemed itself. And hey, it had an awesome season finale, but they are in a dark fucking corner right now. Yeah, it will be cool to see Horowitz, Luciano, Capone, Lansky, and Rosthein doing their prohibition gangster shit, but it is also overplayed.

Anyways, this might as well have been a series finale. It was a great episode, but removing the most compelling character on the show this early will leave me with very low expectations for next season. They really need a ringer next year, because Nucky, as the central character and always smooth and unstoppable gangster/politician cannot carry this show by himself, no matter how well Buscemi plays the character. Chalky White has been underwhelming (I guess the standard expectation was that he would be Omar 2.0, but Chalky is a pretty forgettable character in this one, his impact on the central plot is so negligible I sometimes believe he was only brought in to snag a few Wire viewers), The Commodore is gone, Eli is an idiot(nobody cares about him), and nobody else central to Atlantic City even comes to mind.

The show is basically starting from scratch, I suppose.

If thats true then there might be a chance to save the series. Capone has some major acting development to do, hes barely managed to be annoying so far. I really hope they have been going for annoying.

I don't think that focusing on Capone would really save the series. Everybody knows everything about Capone. And yes, from what I understand, he was an annoying prick. Nucky (half-real) and Jimmy (fictional) were the best two characters of the series, but by having Nucky kill off Jimmy in such a fashion (having him do all his dirty work to cause a mistrial) they have taken a lot of interest out of the show. Now I can't watch Jimmy do crazy shit and I hate Nucky. I'll still watch next year (or attempt to, at least), but damn. You're not supposed to hate the anti-hero until the last season.

I know. Its like the show committed suicide. They kill off Angela, the commodore(honestly tho, he could go imo), Van Alden (basically), and now Jimmy which basically kills off Richard as well. Just typing it makes me cringe...Was Showtime holding a gun to their head or something...
