this does nothing to improve the quality of your posts, so why do it? trust me, it'll just annoy every other user who has to read it.

there are plenty of forums that don't allow sigs. and the ones that do usually give you the option to hide them.
 
Do you that desperately need a Sig? The reason mods have them is to provide useful links for greenlighters...

And if you feel that desperate to quote Nietzsche and bash us with immoralism... Well yeah that is all.

I think Vaya was doing it ironically. And even if not, signing your name is much different than signing a long quote all the time. Names are bearable.

I have to agree with whats been said here already, I would find it really annoying if someone was going to start all their threads with something like that... like, to the point that I would probably stop reading that persons threads unless it was one that really sounded interesting.

I've been doing it for years now. I feel it personalizes whatever I have just posted; perhaps some convoluted way of representing my affection for this community after 8+ years.
It sounds weird, having to explain it, but I'm a creature of habit. I would gladly stop if the community asked me to (watch my inbox blow up now :D )

no, if you do a search of vaya's post's he signs his name after every post, the only difference with me is that i change my color to green?!? what we're an anti green (see what i did there ;) ) forum?
the idea for the 'sig' was that i created a few threads in TDS and it's supposed to act as a reminder, i wouldn't post the 'sig' else where (don't wanna bum people out), but you have broken me down to this: can i sign my name

-Schiz ? a lot of people sign their name and i would like mine in this style

^for now (and if you insist) stick with plain text, no color, with a maximum of one character followed by your name
 
there have been some good responses in this thread to your questions, schizaphonic but a brief search would have informed you that these issues have been covered at length in the past. searching for, and reading these threads would have given you a lot of useful perspective on your questions.

instead of coming blazing in here accusing everybody of being fascist and asking a bunch of questions that have been asked before, you'll be able to post more measured, constructive inquiries. just a thought...

there are no specific rules banning people from creating 'fake' sigs.

the community is merely advising you that they are unnecessary and annoying. if you ignore this advice, you will become 'that annoying guy who keeps writing irrelevant and off-topic crap after every post/thread/PM/whatever". do you want to be that guy? if so, carry on.
 
hmmm. there are no apostrophes in the vB code i keep in Notepad++ what your referring to was most likely a typo from an earlier posting when I was in a rush :)
 
inserting an apostrophe where none is required is not a typo.

^why the hating? i don't think this forum is necessarily a source of elite intellectual conversation, it's basically drug glorification, I make no effort in my posts so long as they are comprehensible. Some of the shit I have read in here isn't even a real language, and your having a go at me?

I had a brief stink in the Australian army in my teens, I got dishonourably discharged after 6 months for bayoneting another companies couch (that's another story) anyway they taught us "why stand when you can sit? why sit when you can lie down?" the point is I'm not going to waste energy correcting the spell checker on Firefox because you like perfect grammar, and I'm not going to do an extensive search of this site when I can simply ask a question to one of the friendly and helpful support staff who already know the answer, I'm what you Americans would call a 'college' student it's not as though i cant write in an elegant fashion, but by the time i hit these forums I'm pretty wasted and have had a long day, I just want chill, read some stories and contribute as best i can. The title of this thread is "A Few Suggestions" not "Do this fucker or I'll rape you" I don't know why you long time members give us new guys such a hard time but if you don't want new members why don't you make it a private server? I'm not telling anyone how to run things, I'm going about doing things as I do as the individual i and all are and apologise if I don't fit into your caste. I have been offensive to some members/mods in the past but am just sick of being insulted by narcissist's, there are pledges on this site for new members but your not particularly accommodating, your all like predators lying in wait to strike and prove your superiority, if you need reassurance believe me your e-penis is huge, i don't know about the real thing though. anyway I'm off to bed, live long and prosper, peace out :)
