bioavailability of snorting vs smoking heroin?

Ive tried smoking h, snortin, & shooting it a couple of times. i dont know if i wanna continue shooting it if im gunna try it again so i was wondering what the different bioavailabilitys of snorting vs smoking h is.
obviously IV is 100% but what about smoking & snorting?

also, does a bag of h usually refer to 0.1g?

I've never bought H before but I believe a bag is supposed to be 100mg/0.1g, yes. I reckon it varies slightly from dealer to dealer as with any drug. Some may give 120mg, some may only give 80mg, but the idea is it should be near 100mg. As for the BA question, it is really hard to pin-point a BA for any smoked drug. Technique is really the deciding factor here and how good you are at chasing vs. how much is literally going up in smoke or being oxidized. For the heroin that does make it into your lungs, the BA is quite high I do believe, you'll want to hold the smoke in for a few seconds to ensure you're getting most of it (nothing drastic, say 3-5 seconds). Smoking is generally seen as providing a stronger rush than snorting, a higher peak, etc. so if you're looking to get as high as possible or as close to IV without IVing, smoking (with practice/good technique) is your way.

Not necessarily, it depends on the type of heroin and the skill of the smoker. Good smoking heroin is either freebased and/or cut into a eutectic mixture(lower melting point combination) with caffeine or free barbiturate acids. Black tar is just so impure the impurities lower the melting/boiling, making it smokable. In this study ( http://jpet.aspetjournals.org/content/154/1/142 ) the avarage bioavailability was 26% for a heroin hydrochloride/barbital mixture, but it was as high as 75%. The theoritical limit for heroin base is probably 89%.Pure heroin hydrochlorides about 10-20% bioavailiability smoked. Snorted bioavailability is probably about 50%. I'd say smoked black tar heroin about 1/3 to 1/2 as strong as IV.

Smoking gives the user more control over their dose, making it harder to OD then snorted/IV. So it's safer. And it gives a little bit of a rush, unlike snorting.

Careful heating and letting the liquified heroin drip down the foil, and capturing the smoke are key to getting the most bang for your buck.

You're forgetting the other problem here in that #3 heroin is better for smoking and worse for snorting while #4 Heroin is better for snorting worse for smoking...

Bags are supposed to be .1 in theory, unless they are a .2 bag haha. With the recent UK h drought you're lucky here if a bag is .1g...

Actually #3 heroin can be snorted, it's raw heroin hydrochloride mixed with caffeine or barbiturates, sometimes with strychnine or quinine for their supposed tonic effect, made in burma. Your thinking of #2 heroin, freebase heroin made in Afganistan and also sometimes cut with caffeine. Black tar is technically #4 heroin hydrochloride and is a bitch to snort. There's also #1 heroin, which isn't even heroin but morphine, not sold on the streets but for labs.

The numbering system was devised by the US DEA in the very early 1970s and is as follows:

Heroin #1: Morphine Freebase or Morphine HCL

Heroin #2: Heroin Acetate or Heroin Freebase

Heroin #3: #4 heroin but specifically altered at the POM (Point of Manufacture) to make it conducive for smoking. The technical definition is a 60:40 mix, with 60 representing heroin hcl. and 40 representing caffeine hcl.

Heroin #4: Heroin hcl made specifically for injection.
