Yay! Festivus is back! :)

How will you prepare for winter?

Though I don't have an awesome drug stash to get through it this year...I do have some holiday themed teas. Got some peppermint, sugar plum spice, and a couple others that haven't been opened yet. Also looking forward to glögg and eggnog.

Edit: I actually think I didn't notice this forum's existence last year, believe it or don't.

This seems very Northern hemisphere centric, ocean. Isn't this a global forum? Hmmm? :p

I'll be preparing for the blistering heat by stocking the fridge with delicious cold beverages and preparing meals that don't require the use of the oven or stove. :|

I'll trade, you can come to Poland if I can stay in Australia for the winter. Can't stand this cold :p

I missed last year's festivus completely, so this is exciting stuff :D

True, true......I forgot when I saw the diaper kitty.
The idea of Christmas when it's hot outside boggles my mind.
What do folks do on Christmas? Is there Santa? Does he have kangaroos instead of reindeer? fill kangaroo pouches w/ gifts and delivers to all the children? (Minus the kangaroo I'm serious in wondering what it is like since in the Northern Hemisphere it's all about snow, sleigh bells and holly ;))
What foods are had?
Maybe we need a thread about Holiday Traditions around the world.....

I don't believe in the southern hemisphere, it's all just a conspiracy to make us think it's warm out somewhere besides the equator.

I mean, where is it supposed to be exactly?

Festivus forum isn't the same without all the red/green/weird titles shenanigans. :\

I spent 3 years living in Australia and Christmas was amazing there. It comes and goes in a flash, Christmas eve and Day, then its gone. No crazy 2 month build up like here or everywhere else by the look of it. Folks are just looking forward to time off work to enjoy the summer holidays more than Christmas. Lots of Beach, Swimming, Surfing, Backyard partys, BBQs, Beers and Blunts with friends, 100°F not a cloud in the sky everyday. Thats how it was for me anyway.

Christmas day was like another weekend except we were wearing silly hats. I'd lap that shit up every year instead of 10 weeks of freezing temps, ridiculous queues everwhere, Airlines jacking up prices 10 fold so your friends/family have to pay a fortune to get home, people shopping like stores will never be open again, having to get up 15 mins earlier so i can scrape the North Pole of the car and slide to work!
