Stimulants vyvanse vs. adderall

whats the difference? Which in your opinion is better? i just got prescribed vyvanse 30mgs for ADHD but cant take it until tomorrow. I've taken 20mgs of adderall before, so i'd like to know what to expect if ill get the same experience or better or worse. thanks guys =]

I haven't taken them but my daughter has been on both and the adderall made her eat less, lose more weight and seemed to be stronger than the vyvanse

Adderall XR is 50% dextroamphetamine, 50% racemic amphetamine (mixture of dextro and levoamphetamine). Vyvanse is pure lisdexamphetamine (basically just lysine bound to dextroamphetamine), a pro-drug for dextroamphetamine. A prodrug is something that isn't active until the body metabolizes it into something active. In this case it would be when the lysine is cleaved from the dextroamphetamine molecule.

I take 60 mg of Vyvanse a day. I also used to be on Adderall XR for an extended period of time. I find Vyvanse's time release mechanism to be vastly superior to that of Adderall. Also levoamphetamine (found in Adderall, not present in Vyvanse) is said to be responsible for a lot more negative, peripheral side effects. I've noticed this to be the case. For me, Vyvanse feels a lot "cleaner" than Adderall. There's less vasoconstriction, less cardiovascular stress in general.

I've had Adderall IR and vyvanse. 30mgs of vyvanse isn't equivlent to 20mgs of adderall more like 10 mgs of adderall. Vyvanse takes longer to kick in and lasts much longer and for me, and most people, has less nasty side effects like shameful mentioned. I personally liked vyvanse better (recreationally and thereputically). Some people say vyvanse doesn't feel as strong as adderall but for me ,at equivlent doses, they felt exactly the same strength wise.

IMO Adderall is wayyyy better than vyvanse. Vyvanse doesn't even convert into the good shit till it hits your liver, it's designed so it can't really be abused. Adderall IR Is way better IMO

Adderall IR doesn't last for shit. And sure, you can't snort Vyvanse like you can Adderall (which is retarded anyway) or really do anything at all to make it hit you faster, but you'd be an idiot if you think it can't be abused. It's called simply taking more. Besides, I feel Vyvanse within 30 minutes of taking it anyway.

I don't really concern myself with abusability of amphetamines though, as I take 'em more for the treatment of ADHD symptoms. I tend to prefer lower doses as opposed to getting totally geeked out and spun.

It really depends on which one works best for you.

Give them both a chance and see, speaking from a chemical point of view, Vyvanse would be more effective (since its converted into straight dextroamphetamine, as opposed to Adderall, which is dextroamphetamine with some levoamphetamine).

The dextroamphetamine is the isomer of amphetamine that you want. For both ADHD/ADD treatment and recreational purposes.

My vyvanse 60mgs got me a lot higher than my add XR 20s im on now.. Too bad they are like *no prices* more expensive

thanks for all the input, yeah im not looking to abuse it, im just hoping it will help with the ADHD seeing as i'll be starting college soon and i want to find something that works well for me so i can focus in school for once. =]
