As a background, I usually take hydros but have run out for awhile, so I have thai kratom, kava and skullcaps tea, and of course, alcohol. But I've been really uninterested in drinking as of late bc I'd much rather enjoy my opiate high with just some tea or a soda and my cigs...beats having a hangover too.

However, in this season, people are going to notice if I'm not wanting to go out drinking. I'm considering just dosing up on one of them for each night and then nursing a few beers to test them out...anyone actually enjoy alcohol with opiates? I feel like when I mix them I lose the warm fuzzy and just feel slightly drunk, and I hate to waste the high. If you've got a good combo I'm all ears!

I once asked my gran if she had ever done drugs. She looked at me for a bit with an odd look on her face. After a while she started smiling and told me to go to the kitchen and bring back whatever was hidden behind her breadbin. Curiously, I went into the kitchen and peered behind. There was a loaf of bead in a box there, so I picked it up and brought it back to her. She took it and opened it, and called for her dog, "sandy". The dog came and she gave him some of the bread. He promptly guzzled it down and came and sat next to me, eagerly anticipating more food.

My gran has dementia, she didn't have a clue what she was doing.

What in the world does that have to do with this thread? 8(

Anyway, yes kratom mixes quite well with alcohol, however it will potentiate the alcohol so watch out for the surprise drunk. I usually keep it to just a couple beers while on kratom. Kava however is terrible to mix with alcohol. Could be dangerously sedating, and also it's just a sea of nausea. Kava isn't good for going out in the first place, it's way too sedating.

We don't do drug reccomendations here.

Mixing opiates with alcohol is a time-tested way of potentiating the high, see the rise of laudanum and many "folk medicines". Alcohol is a very effective solvent for morphine and related opium alkaloids and potentiates the euphoric/depressant effects of opium alkaloids greatly (in some cases leading to death or aspiration of vomit).

That said - there are definitely purists who prefer opioids alone without the mind-cloudiness of alcohol. Maybe you're one of them. Kratom in particular is more stimulating than pure opiates, perhaps that's the issue?

As for kava - it is a GABAergic drug and "works" in the same manner that alcohol does. I've heard of it being fermented into beer (kava root) but I don't reccomend mixing kava and ethanol as the two would likely potentiate each other leading to extreme intoxication. Pick one or the other.

Skullcap tea is essentialy a herbal benzodiazepine; it too will potentiate alcohol somewhat. Not as much as kava or krtom though.

Alcohol is just a really messy drug.
