I started to freak out when that came on aswell, started thinking I had missed an episode or something. The episode was alright but something major better happen soon or I'm going to get bored of it.

are you referring to the episode where daryl gets mistaken for a walker and gets shot?

I recorded Frozen Planet on BBC HD and the 3 episodes I watched were amazing.Nature seems to be the most enjoyable thing to watch in HD.Football aint bad either.

Chopper pisses all over Bronson.

On another note... fucking loving Homeland at the moment.

Homeland is fucking ridiculous. I have to admit I've been enjoying it but I started talking about it to a mate on Sunday morning & realised how utterly fucking stupid it is lol.

Got a choice of Homeland, Walking Dead, Boardwalk & Dexter for tonight. Boardwalk has just started to get good after me slating it a fair bit recently. Last weeks episode was quality. I still want every single woman in it lined up across the CGI boardwalk & shot in the face though.

Walking Dead is utter tripe, watched it the other night on FX. Is this new series of Dexter we're talking PTC? Is it any good? Loved all the previous ones to series 5 end.

Still haven't watched the new series of boardwalk, it was boring me to death last time I tried to watch it.

The new Dexter is OK, but definitely not upto the standard of the previous ones. I didn't really realise how little scope there is for the storyline. The Walking Dead has gone to shit, it absolutely sucks now. Is anyone else watching this Australian drama called 'The Slap'? It's really good. It's about a guy who slaps a child that belongs to someone else at a birthday party. I'll be honest that's what got me into it, but it goes much deeper than debating the issues of corporal punishment and delves into all of the characters lives. Very interesting.

Will check that out MSB. In desperate need of a new show to watch, I have given up on the walking dead, just about to give up on dexter as well.

With each season of Dexter I just come to it with a clean slate, and watch it as if it is a brand new show. It seems almost unfair to judge it next to how good it was. Compared to everything else out there it is still above average. What they really need to do is put Dexter under serious pressure, where he is really close to being caught. I would like to see him actually get caught to be honest, the show would get really interesting really fast. However, I don't think they'll do this. They are going to keep it running until it's gone into the ground because it's too much of a cash cow. I can't quite bring myself to give up on the Walking Dead; Some people on this forum and others have suggested that what they're trying to do is set it all up to be more like the comic book, and when all the pieces are in place it should become epic again (hopefully). I think they have slowed it down to a crawl because they want it to stretch out to 7 seasons minimum though, so this is probably just wishful thinking...

Last weeks family guy was alright. I don't know why i'm still watching it to be honest - across a whole season I don't laugh as much as I used to with just one episode. American Dad has grown on me as the characters have developed, and it seems to have a much longer shelf life. I tried out 'Hell on Wheels', in the hope it would be as good as other ANC shows, but it sucked a bit. The characters have viewpoints that are too modern, and for some reason American's simply can't do period dramas. I think i'm gonna check out their other new show called 'Rubicon'. Got any shows to recommend me mate? I'm running a bit low too!

[edit] I'd just like to add that misfits this week was fucking shit. I was going to not watch it after the first 5 minutes, and I wish I had. It didn't forward the story at all, and it was an idea that shouldn't have been allowed any further than paper! There were so many flaws it's unreal.

I forgot Misfits even existed. Watched the first episode or two of the latest series & thought it was not bad but haven't even thought about it since. Just realised I've not seen Shameless in about a month either. Again, I hadn't even thought about it, it is pretty pish though tbh.

Family Guy is utter shite.

I've had Rubicon downloaded for a while now but haven't got round to watching it, I'll leave it for when all the currently running US shows are finished.

Misfits is alright but I wouldn't go out my way to watch it. Family Guy was funny once upon a time when it first came out and I smoked alot of weed. Now it's just mind numbing crap.

Frozen planet sounds a plan, just watching the Chelsea game but it's pretty dire.

anyone bored TVwise tonight and looking for something to watch, Hell on Wheels, the new AMC show that I mentioned was about to start about a month ago which looked promising, is now 3 episodes in and really decent.

Set just at the end of the yank civil war. I don't normally go for historicals, but I knew it'd be good. t'is well written like you'd expect from the little gems AMC make pick-up - breaking bad, rubicon etc. [edit] it's not tension, on the edge of your seat fodder, but it's definitely got the makings of a decent saga/well thought out tale of revenge

1, 2, 3

^ not sure if it's ok to link or nawt but apologies mods, if it's verboten <3

..........

I actually still like the walking dead 5/6 episodes in. I have a thing for 80's horror and romero tho, so I'm probably just biased and blindly in love just bcos it's fairly traditional zombie-fodder, and not Resident Evil style nonsense

I am currently watching Romanzo Criminale on Tuesday nights, SKY Arts. For those who haven't seen it, It is an Italian Mob series set in Rome starting in the 70s. While it lacks the breadth, depth, cultural and moral complexity of the Sopranos, the show to which it will obviously be compared. This is because it attempts to compress a 1000 page novel, inspired by true events, which takes place over two decades into 22, 55 minute episodes. It depicts a gang of street criminals in their quest to dominate Rome’s underground against a background of the Red Brigades, Aldo Morro, Fascist plots and state corruption.
If plot and character are sometimes handled in broad strokes, they are handled with all the verve of a Titian. It is absolutely lovely to look at, owing a stylistic debt to Scorsese, particularly Goodfellah's and Boardwalk Empire which it anticipates. If the 70s were a decade lost to fashion then nobody told the Romans, the clothes and the cars are to die for and while Rome is eternally beautiful, the series avoids a Woody Allen type checklist of cultural icons, instead the sparingly using panoramas take the breadth away. There is a large cast of characters and since they all to my eyes looked familiar at first it takes a little figuring out, but it is worth it for its fast paced, sheer entertainment. It all looks so gorgeous you don’t notice the acting but the guy playing the only honest Italian, the Police inspector chasing the villain’s stands out for me.
Watch this show, it is and I thought I would never use this phrase, cool as fuck, and oh, it is in subtitles.

They need to knock Dexter on the head soon I reckon. Its just getting boring now... I stopped watching a few episodes a go.

Foreign films is where its at;)
